Can anyone relate any Wisconsin business success stories? Either your business or a business you are familiar with?

Just thought I'd mention the August 2009 issue of Entrepreneur magazine has an article on the 10 Best (And Surprising) Cities To Start A Business.

On page 57, they chose Madison, Wisconsin as one of their picks by virtue of it's diversity of industries and technologies. One of the local businesses they spotlight is www.LocalDirt.com, a subscription based web application designed to connect local farmers with groceries, restaurants, schools, hospitals, and the public.

Dearco Paint, Glass, and Decorating is doing well. We just started a new "Tip of the Week." We're airing it on local radio, they have podcasts on their site, and we've posted them to our Facebook page as well. I'd really like to get into more email marketing and do the tip in a video format for YouTube, but so far, so good!

Speaking of YouTube.. YouTube should be a prime choice for your business to crow about successes (and even failures - that's how people learn)...
