Master the 30 second commercial, fast pitch or elevator speech

The next time someone asks, "What do you do?", stay away from the 2 or 3 word answer and tell them what you do!

Whatever position you hold in the company, there's more to what you do than can begin to be conveyed in a few words. Develop a 30-second commercial.

Here's my 30-second commercial (which I've spoken so often I can clearly say it in a half a minute, and can adapt and improvise for most any situation):

My name is Keith Klein. I'm the owner of OnYourMark, LLC, a web design, production, programming, hosting and internet marketing firm with digital photography, audio and video at our studio or your location. OnYourMark, LLC consists of a Fine Family of Companies tightly integrated to bring unprecedented levels of web expertise and service to small and medium sized businesses. This philosophy falls in line with "sell yourself to sell your product/service".. just so long as your pitch is also honest, focused, and sincere.

The only time I have been in an elevator in the last few years is in a Hosptial and most people do not strike up conversations while in the hospital. Gone are the days of business trips to Chicago and staying along Michigan Ave.

Apparently you've never had the misfortune of running into me.. I will talk anywhere, anyplace, and to anybody. Hospitals and elevators are a great place to strike up conversations because you're almost assured a captive audience, especially if they're in traction!

Here's the full skinny on FREE videotaping of your 30-second commercial.

This info is listed at Wisconsin Business Owners in the message boards.

We'll give you a free videotape session for your 30-second commercial (actually, up to 60 seconds)!

Requirements and Logistics:

1. We'll do this for people attending at least their 2nd Wisconsin Business Owners meetup in a row, or 3rd in the last 6 months.

2. The final frame will give attribution to Videocracy.com (our video business) and Wisconsin Business Owners

3. Besides your 30-second commercial, we want a 30-second commercial for Wisconsin Business Owners as well.

Email your scripts for your 30-second commercial and Wisconsin Business Owner testimonial to: Christian AT OnYourMark.com at least one week before the meetup. We put these on a teleprompter for your convenience.

Call Christian at OnYourMark at 262-820-8201 to schedule your session.

4. Elevator speeches will be shot at Cali's Lounge well before the meetup. We'll schedule 10-minute sessions (first reserved, first served) at 11:20 to 11:30 am, 11:10 to 11:20, 11:00 to 11:10, 10:50 to 11:00, 10:40 to 10:50, and 10:30 to 10:40 am.

We especially recommend the "Department of Shameless Self-Promotion" section of theBubbler.com! All it takes is copying and pasting the 'embed' code from YouTube into theBubbler forum page (and free registration at theBubbler.com, of course).

EXTRAS:

A. We'll shoot these against a green screen or blue screen. We can place your logo that you provide as the background behind you in your video for only $89.

B. We can add captions with your name, your company, your phone number, web address and other contact information for another $89.

C. Get A and B, above, and we'll remove the attribution in the final frame, and for another $20 we'll burn a copy to DVD and bring it to you at the next Meetup. For a total of $198, plus tax, you'll have your own commercial!
