A NOTE OF THANKS
What a great community we live in! On a chilly, windy morning 250 people participated in the Second Annual Titletown Turkey Trot right before the Time Warner Cable Holiday Parade in down town Green Bay (Saturday, November 19) to fight blindness in Northeast Wisconsin. Because of their efforts and dedication, $22,000 was raised for free vision screenings and eye health programs in our community.
A special thanks goes to the City of Green Bay and its police department for helping with our race course and making the event safe for all. Thanks to Downtown Green Bay, Inc. for realizing the successful partnership with Prevent Blindness, and the Fr. Ken DeGroot Community Center for allowing our participants to register in its fine facility.
Also, big thanks to our premier community sponsors: KI, BayCare/Green Bay Eye Clinic, Time Warner Cable and WOGB Radio. Our goal could not have been met without you.
Our volunteer committee did an incredible job: Chairman Russ Schisel, John Yeager, MaryLea Jones, Mike Gotstein, Denise Green, Earl Jorgensen, Molly DeCleene, Dan Konop and Patty Graul. Those of you who joined in registration, course marshalling and safety assistance, your efforts ensured a well-organized event and an upcoming holiday tradition.
To the individuals who collected pledges, walked or ran, we hail your dedication and hope you’ll join us once again next year.
Sincerely,
Nancy J. Nabak
