Know what I found????

http://www.geocaching.com/

I found this by accident and thought it was kind of different. It's called a "Cache", I guess the object is a basic hide and seek type of thing. Items are hidden all over the US (many in WI alone) in tuppaware containers with a log book and from what I understand you take the item out to keep and add another to put into the container, log yourself in the book and hide it again (not sure if you hide it in the same spot or different, you'll have to do some reading). From what I read this is the new big thing and reminds me of a Scavenger hunt.

Just thought I'd post this if someone was interested in checking it out. I think if I had more free time this could be fun with the kids.

I've heard people talk about this before. I think it would be worth buying a GPS device just to drive around and check out stuff like this. It would be a fun way to spend a summer weekend.

Wisconsin Geo Caching

FYI
http://www.wi-geocaching.com

About this site:
Our purpose is to plan geocaching events in Wisconsin that are open to everyone who wishes to sign up and participate. In turn, the events we plan are designed for:

1. Meeting people
2. Communication
3. Education
4. Having fun!

We also support the sport of geocaching in Wisconsin. We are currently working with the Wisconsin DNR to develop a statewide geocaching policy for Wisconsin state parks. Our hope is that this policy will become a model for all parks -- state, county, and municipal -- in Wisconsin. We welcome your input and involvement. If you would like to volunteer to help with an activity or upcoming event, please let us know.
