That irks me just having to read that this goes on. People can be so rude or selfish or caught up in their own world.
Being on the other side of things really has taught me a few things. I know I will be a much better person with taking the time to visit others in a hospital or a family member in a nursing home. Or even at home if they might be laid up for a while with an injury or illness. It's depressing enough as it is. A visit can do wonders for the person.
Not that you would wish anything bad on anyone, but it would be nice if people could see from your point of view.

Right now it irks me that I can't get a hold of my husband because he shut his cell phone off. I wanted to tell him a couple of things before he goes to bed tonight. LOL that sounds weird if you don't know about my current situation.
ok my turn to complain. I have a multitude of items that irk me today.
My expensive toilet is no longer working and the There are no available parts. Menards who originally sold the unit conveniently no longer handles that brand.
This is what my dad used to call planned obsolescence. It forces people to buy new. The problem is what do you do with all that old stuff? The obvious answer is the landfill and then the entire world is complaining about how we are wasting resources by filling up the landfills. The list of obsolete household items is too large to share here but you all know what I am talking about.
So I have decided to take the old one out and replace it. As long as I am going the far I decided to paint since I dislike painting a bathroom without getting being the toilet or medicine cabinet etc . I stripped the bathroom and got some paint. The can says a gallon will cover 500 sq ft but I know better I always use the rule that a gallon cover 250 sq ft. I will note my calculations were correct and I purchased exactly what I needed for paint.
While I am at theses stores looking a toilet I noticed that all the store including the following.
Menards, Lowes and Home Depot display their toilets and medicine cabinets at a level that requires the need a 6 foot step ladder to actually see the fixtures. What genius came of with that plan? What type of thinking is that?

I know what you mean about things that still work, but are obsolete. This is especially true of electronics that are no longer compatible with other devices, even though they might only be 3 years old.
My scanner, for example. It's a nice thin scanner that is easy to move around as you need to position it, unlike flatbed scanners that stay in one place. I buy a new computer with Vista on it and HP decides they don't want to update the driver to make it compatible with Vista. That was for a scanner that was about 3-4 years old and still works great. Now the only way I can scan is by importing the scanner which requires extra steps and you can no longer use the settings that the scanner comes with since there is no driver installed on my computer. Thanks HP!
Speaking of planned obsolescence, expiration dates don't always indicate a product will miraculously spoil by that date or go bad, they are basically a "reminder" for the store to rotate their stock and buy new inventory.
We could make light bulbs today that would burn forever but that's not gonna happen because of economics..
Today I have a Weight Watchers beef. My light beer was counting as 3 points per bottle. Now today I go on the website and find out they raised it to 4 points. I'm not sure why this happened, but when regular beer goes for 5 points a bottle, then it makes you wonder why you'd go with light. Aren't they supposed to encourage the lighter choices in all foods/beverages?
However, 2 bottles still comes out to the same total and that's 7 points for 2 bottles. That didn't change.
I've decided to just stick with what it was when I started the program. Why cheat myself, right? 3 points it is! LOL

Ok, a guy from Home Depot explained that if they had the toilets on the floor some kid just might get confused and use one. I guess I cannot blame them for placing them high enogh for that not to happen.
I Guess I was not so smart after all.

Oh my goodness! I never thought of that but I can see it happening now that you mention it! lol
This last thing about the 'toilets' just reminded me how many times I tell my kids when they are griping about something they think is wrong. I will tell them that sometimes we may not know the reason but there really could be a good reason for what we don't understand. And maybe they should think about it first before complaining. lol Sometimes we are all so quick to judge or complain (not meaning you John). . . just in general.
grrrr...if it wasn't bad enough that our Walmart didn't have what I wanted I later decided to drive down to the Walmart down in Zion, Il and see if they had the item. Got all the way there reached for my purse and realized I left it at home!! No money. No cards. Nothing. Well except for a dollar in my pocket. Had to drive home without the item of which of course they did have.
I did that last week.. I had a few dollars in my pocket but figured I would use my card to buy something from Burger King.. suddenly realized I'd left my wallet home.

Yesterday I left thinking I had my card with me and needed gas and found out I didn't have it with me. Fortunately my daughter had hers and put 10 bucks in so we could do what we needed to do and get back home again.
It irks me when you go in to a store and they only have on check out open!
I stopped at Walmart last night at 11:00 and they only had the one check out open and the woman at it was someone from my way distant past (late 1970s) that I absolutely can't stand! Since it was the only one open, I had to go through her line too. I don't think she remembered me but I certainly remember her! She used to date two of my uncles at the same time, one of which was married back then. The unmarried one ended up dead and there has always been speculation that she may have had something to do with it! I had to bite my tongue to keep from saying anything and I got out of there as quickly as I could.

I am not a big fan of Wally World but some things are much cheaper there.
I really dislike the self-check outs, they irk me very much and I would walk out without buying before I would use one. Wally World would love to get us all to use self check outs.
Woodmans evn have self check outs!!!! That irks me too.
one more thing.
The word "irks" irks me big time.

I prefer the self check outs mainly because I dont like having to tell the cashiers how to bag my stuff. It drives me crazy when they put my meat in the same bag as my bread or the hairspray in with my frozen juice etc... I always have to say "cold & warm stuff seperate", "household & food seperate" and so on... still they dont always do as I ask. When I managed the front end of a wal-mart (back in the day), I always trained on how to bag correctly. Wal-mart doesn't do that normally, so you have these cashiers doing it all messed up.
It irks me when I have to correct it or seperate stuff.
