Things learned
I got this in an email, The author is Rex Stark
1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on
the same night.
2. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has
not and never will achieve its full potential, that word would be
"meetings."
3. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
4. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never
want you to share yours with them.
5. You should not confuse your career with your life.
6. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. (I wish I
had!)
7. Never lick a steak knife.
8. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.
9. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a
big deal about your birthday. That time is age 21.
10. A person who is nice to you, but rude to a waiter, is not a nice
person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)
11. Your friends love you anyway.
12. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur
built the Ark; a large group of professionals built the Titanic.

RE:
Life's Little Lessons, you have some good statements. If you have something you would like to include, please feel free.
Quotes: Life's Lessons
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity, or registering wrongs."
-Charlotte Bronte
Life takes its own turns and makes its own demands, writes its own story. And along the way, we start to realize we are not the author. We begin to understand that life is ours to live, but not to waste, and that the greatest rewards are found in the commitments we make with our whole hearts to the people we love and to the causes that earn our sacrifice.
~George W. Bush, Yale Commencement, 2001
"Just living is not enough... One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower."
-Hans Christian Anderson
"We are here to add what we can to life, not to get what we can from it."
-William Osler
"Let us live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry."
-Mark Twain
"Through our great good fortune, in our youth our hearts were touched with fire. It was given to us to learn at the outset that life is a profound and passionate thing."
-Oliver Wendall Holmes
"Life is half spent before one knows what life is."
-French Proverb
"The best way to prepare for life is to begin to live."
-Eliot Hubbard
"The earth belongs to the living, not to the dead."
-Thomas Jefferson
"Thank you, God, for this good life and forgive us if we do not love it enough."
-Garrison Keillor
"We love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving."
-Nietzsche
"Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake."
-Thoreau
"Life is a song - sing it.
Life is a game - play it.
Life is a challenge - meet it.
Life is a dream - realize it.
Life is a sacrifice - offer it.
Life is love - enjoy it."
-Sai Baba
"Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood."
-Helen Keller
"Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it onto future generations."
-George Bernard Shaw
"And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
-Abraham Lincoln
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
-Martin Luther King Jr.
"Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint you can on it."
-Danny Kaye
"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today."
-James Dean
"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable."
-Helen Keller
"Life is a mixture of living and longing, learning and growing, with loving and laughing filling in the gaps in between."
-Megan
"Now is the age of anxiety."
-W. H. Auden
"God is a comedian, playing to an audience too afraid to laugh."
-Voltaire
"Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
-Evan Hardin
"I used to always think that I'd look back on us crying and laugh, but I never thought I'd look back on us laughing and cry."
-Unknown
