Bump A Thread To The Top Day

Here's a challenge: think of a word, enter the word into the Search box here at theBubbler and choose a thread from the search results to "bump" up..

I've already done several.. now you try!

LOVE

I will pick the first thread that comes up and this is it:

SKUNK!!!! To know them is to Love them

I will now bump it up.

If I may, I'd like to throw my two cents in here...

I can see the value in bumping threads...it can generate interest and promote activity.
However, bumping a dozen threads sometimes causes active threads to get buried. It is frustrating to have been participating in an active thread only to see it missing from the list when retruning to theBubbler.

I wonder if bumping in moderation might be a good idea? Perhaps pick one or two really good threads and bump them up. Or...pick a thread that had some potential but didn't get noticed the first time?

I know some feel 'bumping' isn't as important as newer threads, and then there's the other side of the issue, where there are those that enjoy reading an older thread since many times newer members would never notice the 'older' thread unless one of us bumps it. In that case they enjoy it almost like it's a 'new' thread to them and we get new replies.

To 'bump or not to bump' guess there will always be two sides to how people feel about it.

Personally I love getting some of the old threads stirred up and brought back to the top. I've even found threads that I don't remember or may have missed the first time around or even found that a year later I have a different idea to add.

But I agree that 'bumping' in moderation is the best way to go.

Thanks pk, for addressing the bumping topic. I appreciate you sharing your views, and since I am new here, it's helpful to know how things work at theBubbler.

I appreciate being able to share my views here, even if some may not agree. There are many good threads going on...always something for everyone to participate in.
