Yup, I can hear myself saying this one many times. My kids know I do not want to hear that someone else gets to do something, or has something, or whatever. Wrong way to get me to listen when they start by saying that about another friend.

I know I have used it many times. In fact I don't remember which one I was saying it to but I just said this to one of my kids the other day!

OK, a bit different but many, many, many times I have said....Wow, I'm so glad that I never treated MY MOM that way. We would never think of it, we loved her! lol

I'm not sleeping, I was watching that channel.

Many times when my oldest daughter lived here she would wake up in the middle of the night and try to turn the T.V. off and wake me up to go to bed and I would yell at her in my sleep saying...don't turn the channel, I am watching that!! Yet the show I was watching was done like hours before.

Everyone still laughs about that. Now I just fall asleep in front of my computer.

That is probably the one I used most with my kids, especially my youngest son. When we moved here, he wanted to be able to run the streets like all the other kids did and we wouldn't let him. After he graduated from high school, he actually thanked me for not letting him do that because he said he might have ended up getting trouble like most of the other kids did who got to run the streets all the time. His appreciation made all the arguments from those years worth it in the end.

Guess it depends on what kids you are looking at. I see some that makes me feel there is some hope left.
