I think most (or many) of us can relate to the Vietnam War in some way, having either lived thru that period in history or having known a friend, neighbor, or relative who did..

Average age of Vietnam vets is probably around 65 or so..

Let's remember the 58,202 US casualties this Memorial Day.. average age of those killed was just 23 yrs of age..

My dear brother-in-law, (my sister's husband) who is now in his 60s served in the Vietnam War. Super great guy and did his country proud.

My dad served.

Whether we agree with what the war was or not, we can certainly honor the ones who served. My daughter is marching in the West Allis Memorial Day parade - going to be a hot day for it.

I enlisted in the Army in 1974 but only made it thru the first 48 days before getting a medical discharge.. took me several tries to get in to begin with.

My dad and uncle were both Navy after WWII.. my younger brother was in the Army in Germany during the late 70's - early 80's.
