My husband's old boss was big into hunting all sorts of critters. He had quite a trophy room in his house. Animals from all over the world. One of the things he hunted was a lion and he said after a while the lion starts to hunt you. For this type of hunting you have guides that go out with you. They tell you what to do and act as back-up.
I have pictures I took of the wild game room in his house.
I asked him once what was his craziest story from hunting and I expected to hear a story about being almost attacked by a wild animal. but it wasn't that at all. It was in Alaska and they had gotten lost in the wilderness.
My former boss also was big into hunting all kinds of wild animals, including an elephant. That seemed like kind of a waste since you don't get any of the meat or rest of the animal to even keep as trophy. That all goes to the country you hunt in. That is true of the lions also, I think. There you get the animal after the meat has been removed. They keep the meat, you get what's left if you want to mount it.
