Where Are You Going On Vacation This Summer?

We went way up north to the St. Germain area this past extended weekend. I was dissapointed that gas shot up to 3.75 in Appleton but I only had to add a 1/4 tank so the impact was not so great. I was even happier when I realized I would not have a need to fill up when I was up north as the gas was 3.93! I just love it when the gas stations think they have you where they want you. It makes me want to return to that area,NOT!
The whole experience makes me wonder if I will take a vaction in the Summer again or in Wisconsin.
The one vacation we took was a trip to Denver this summer. We did not drive and got tickets for less than the cost of gas to drive there.
So Wisconsin I did not spend too much vacation dollars here this year. You see some people around this state decided that I should be paying more for my health care. That extra cost has to come from somewhere. Guess where it comes from? Then realize that health insurance premiums are pre-tax deductions so the extra amount we are paying for insurance does not get taxed at the income level.

So Wisconsin I did not spend too much vacation dollars here this year.

We always try to take several 'mini' trips around Wisconsin in the summer. I really wanted to explore the very west side of Wisconsin this year or maybe go back up to Door County. But so far we took a one day trip to Madison. Gas is crazy and takes away the enjoyment to just get away even for a day.

Makes me really wonder how tourist areas faired this year not just here but everywhere.
