Question Weird Dreams?

Ever have any really weird dreams?

Last night I dreamt I was walking and lost in a warehouse type district.. I went in to ask for directions and couldn't find anyone in the front office so walked further in only to find it was a mental hospital (and a really spooky one at that!).. one of the orderlies was being held captive by an inmate and I rescued her only to find out she was lost as well!

Re: Weird Dreams?

My whole life I have had a dream that continues from the last one. It is always just an ordinary experience and it is almost like I return to a location where they know me, and I have been gone for a while, so I pick up where I left off.
Sometimes years go by before I have that dream again.
It is never disturbing but sure would be nice to know why that is.

(My kids just say your weird, mom)

Re: Weird Dreams?

I have a similar situation.. my dreams are always located in a city that looks foreign yet familiar at the same time.. I'm almost always trying to find my way home through a "dangerous" section of town but I never feel really threatened for some reason.. often I revisit the same locations.

Re: Weird Dreams?

Ever have a weird dream? Now that's a silly question. Are there normal dreams. Not that I ever have much of any.

Weirdest dream would be the one where I took a baby out of the plastic package and skinned it to prepare it for the oven. It had funny yellow skin like a raw chicken. I've had people get mad at me for having this dream. LOL like I could ever control that and it's not like it was real.

Some of the reoccuring dreams I've had over the years are: I need to find a bathroom, but the toilets are always filthy, broken, overflowing and full of poo.

I'm walking on land that is surrounded by lots of water and the land gets smaller, but never totally disappears.

I'm in a wildlife area that looks much like something in Wis. Marshes and fields of tall grass. Nothing special about this dream really. In the dream it's like I've been there for real somewhere.

I'm running from someone and in a big house. I run from room to room and every room has 2 doors. One door to enter and another to exit. I always get away, but there's a lot of room in that house.

My husband and I have bought or moved to a big old house. It usually needs work, but it is always huge. There are often 2 or 3 kitchens and several livingrooms. Way more house than we would need.

There is this area north of where I live (at least in my dream) that has red rock formations and looks like areas out in the west. Very beautiful. In my dream we either stop briefly or drive by and say we should go hiking there again.

Haven't had this dream in years, but I used to dream of this house that was either white or lt. pink, I forgot. It sits right next to the road. Nothing special about this dream, except we went to this town in Arizona called Jerome, which was a copper mining town years ago. The town sits on a hill with the streets going up and down winding around the buildings which are right up to the black top. Anyway, this town reminded me of my dream. When I saw it I said that it looked like a dream I had a few times.

Here's an idea of how Jerome, AZ is built. http://photos.igougo.com/images/p656..._Jerome_AZ.jpg

Re: Weird Dreams?

I really don't remember any of my dreams I've had lately and I like to keep it that way if possible. I heard awhile back that if you tell yourself right before you fall asleep that you will remember your dreams when you wake up, then you usually do. Also if you write your dreams down as soon as you wake up then you will remember more details about them. Several years ago I decided to try that and it actually worked. The problem was though that most of the dreams I had were more like nightmares and they scared the heck out of me! Many of them consisted of being chased by the devil or some other evil demon. So...after a few weeks of that, I had to start telling myself that I wasn't going to remember my dreams anymore and so far I haven't and I hope it stays that way too!

Re: Weird Dreams?

You don't usually remember your dreams because some of your memory processing attributes are shut down while sleeping..

Re: Weird Dreams?

So this morning my hubby had to get up early to go to Madison to pick up supplies and right before he left at 6:30 he woke me up and asked if I had moved some kind of rubber seal off the table which of course I hadn't. Evidently he left it there last night and it was missing this morning. I've told him several times in the past not to leave anything on the table overnight because the cats think everything they find is a toy for them to play with so they probably took it. He looked around for a bit but didn't find it and said it wasn't a big deal since he could pick up another one for about four bucks. After he left I fell back asleep and dreamed about having to look all over the house for that darn rubber seal and I was getting quite frustrated because I couldn't find it! LOL

Re: Weird Dreams?

I think dreams are fascinating..

What I wonder about is how sleep evolved? I mean, from a safety standpoint, it isn't very safe for an animal to sleep and risk being attacked by a predator.

Re: Weird Dreams?

One time I had the most creative, wonderful dream about a screen play. I woke up and wrote it all down, thinking it would be a work of art. The next morning when I read it, it made absolutely no sense, it was all jibberish.
Dang.

Yet they say many people have experienced valid inspiration during dreams.. you just hit the short end of the stick!
