What Makes Your Church Special To You?

For those of you who attend church, what makes the church you attend special to you? Not the particular religion you belong to but the church/temple/synagogue you attend..

The church I attend I helped to plant just over 2 years ago from another church. What I like about my church is that just about everyone greatly cares for everyone else. The elder of my church, along with about 8 other guys, helped me reroof my house for free - including materials! If there is a need, we try to take care of it, whether it's physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Another thing I like is that the Truth is preached, and not in a "holier than thou" way. Our ministers are certainly humble, yet lead with confidence.

Finally, we have great music (although I'm a bit biased being the drummer).

One more thing, I don't belong to a "religion." Religion is problematic.

Funny.. most of the people I know locally attend churches outside of town.. wonder why that is?

Living in the Bible Belt, we have loads of churches to choose from here..

That is odd. My church is within walking distance - another plus (but not the reason we attend).

We actually have several churches within walking distance but seems quite a few go out of town (and even to the next state! We're not far from the Kansas/Oklahoma border).

For me (and I suspect for others as well), going to church is about community. You can be spiritual anywhere but sharing your faith with others of a like mind is important as well..
