Favorite Easter Treat?

What was your favorite Easter treat as a kid? For me, I loved black jelly beans! Still do, when I can find more than 1 in a bag!

Many like Easter peeps but I was never fond of marshmallow candy (except for Mallo Cups)..

How about you?

(My mom made and sold Easter baskets for extra money.. $35-$60 a basket and usually had more orders than she could handle..)

Re: Favorite Easter Treat?

What's funny is that there is a lot of Easter candy I don't care for compared to other candy. I don't like jellybeans that much and not fond of malted milk eggs. I don't like those big Brach's chocolate covered eggs that came individually wrapped in foil and had different fillings. Usually a nasty filling like maple or orange. Do they still make those? I don't like those marshmallow eggs with the hard pastel shell and I'm thinking they were coconut flavored. But sometimes they were just plain marshmallow. I'm not into chomping into a big chocolate bunny even though I like chocolate. I just don't like that much at once. Cadbury eggs are too sweet to me. LOL what does that leave?

Probably would be all the non-Easter type of candy for me. Like the mini candy bars or Reese's PB cups. I'm sure we got normal candy in our baskets beside the traditional Easter candy. Back then we didn't even get the good jellybeans like Jelly Belly. We got the crappy Brach's ones or probably some generic brand.

Peeps are ok once in a while, but they are so sweet too. Sugar coated sugar is all it is.

As a kid we never got the big chocolate bunnies. Neither my brother or I were that much of a chocoholic that we needed that much.

Re: Favorite Easter Treat?

Another nasty Easter candy are those chocolate covered rabbits filled with rubbery marshmallow. They come individually wrapped in some kind of foil wrapper. The chocolate was crumbly and the marshmallow was tough. They even have a Christmas version of these like a snowman or Santa.

I pretty much agree with everything Blue said about the candy, except I do like jelly beans but haven't ate in for quite sometime.

Just give me a Reese's Egg. Reese is good no matter what shape it is in.

I bought all my Easter candy at Walgreens in Mauston the other day. I think they have a much better selection of candy there.

Re: Favorite Easter Treat?

My favorite Easter candy would have to be the Brach's spiced jelly beans but I also like the cinnamon jelly beans.
