Anyone in the habit of celebrating April Fool's with a prank of some sort? Me, I'm not creative enough and no energy this year so I'll leave it up to you guys.. what was the best prank you pulled or have heard of?
Every year when I was a young girl on April Fool's Day I would run up to my Mom and try to act real scared and yell, Mommy, Mommy there is a spider on your head!! And she would act like she was scared and try to get it off. lol I have no idea why I would do that since I was so very afraid of spiders as far back as I can remember.
The funny thing is I still would have to stop by her house on April 1st, after I was all grown with kids of my own and tell her each year, hey, Mom...there's a spider on your head! lol For some reason she always got a kick out of it.
Oh the things Mom's have to endure.
Wow, I actually miss getting to tell her that each year. ...
Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten it was April Fools Day tomorrow! I have to come up with something good to get my hubby with. He has played so many pranks over the years! I got him last year when I called our business phone with my cell phone and then answered it and pretended I was talking to a clinic who decided to cancel a big job we were supposed to do that day. He thinks it's funny when he does the jokes but it's not as funny when someone gets him with one! LOL
My brother is quite a prankster all year so we really have to watch out at family gatherings. One year when I had Easter at my house, he put a rubber band on the kitchen sprayer so when I turned the faucet on, I got sprayed! Hmmm....I should try that one on my husband in the morning. I just have to remember not to turn it on before he does or the joke will be on me instead of him! LOL
I just remembered, a couple years ago, I got a bunch of my friends big time with an April Fools joke. They are all on a private chat line with me so I posted on there that I was getting a divorce. They asked me why and I made up a bunch of stories and they believed me! They were posting their advice and condolences all day long and finally at midnight I told them "April Fools!" Some of them thought it was hilarious that they were fooled but a couple of them weren't too happy with me. I guess they didn't like being tricked very much.
I did the rubber band thing on the kitchen sprayer and got my son this morning! He didn't think it was too funny because he got his sleeve all wet. Boo hoo! LOL
But I will say with the nice weather out and a few new projects coming up I won't be able to be around quite as often but I won't be actually leaving, I'm to 4 ever addicted.
I told my daughter that a cold front came through and we got hit with several inches of snow and she better get up quickly and check it out before it all melts. She did look out and was confused for a minute, and kept saying, "There's no snow" "No, there isn't any snow". I think she thought I was crazy. April Fool's.
The best was the fact that my son is always taking his time getting out of the house to get into the van so I called him from the van and told him that the lights must have gone out for a few minutes last night and we were running much later than I thought since I was now looking at the clock in the van and he better hurry. lol First time I got him out in the van on time.
OnMilwaukee.com had a lot of April Fool's articles today. I was going to post the links, but they might have been removed from their site.
They had an article on them putting potholes in the Marquette Interchange because there aren't any yet and people are used to driving in potholes in Mke.
Another article was about the new strip club in Mke called Wool. (it was the flannel shirt twist on Silk).
A third article mentioned local fish fry to include Asian carp so they could get rid of them from Lake Michigan.
Another article was called "Restaurant closing is everyone's fault but the owner."
Another article was on Mayor Tom Barrett wouldn't accept Scott Walker's Facebook friend request.
I did get my husband to fall for the pothole story. I even fell for it when I read it and then I got to the end of the story and someone made a comment about what day it was.

There was a good one in Texas where this guy wrote an article about how the state was tightening up it's belt for the poor economy and talked about how they were going to cut the football program.
