Re: Favorite Way To Enjoy Chocolate?

OK, here goes another food comment.

The other day I stopped at Shirl's restaurant, something I have not done in years. (we have to many choices in this city to eat at I guess). Anyways, I ordered a Cheese Grub and it was so good. I swear it's been so many years since I had one I almost forgot all about them but for some reason I just developed a craving for one the past few weeks. Anyways, it was so good that I actually had to go back and get some for our dinner tonight. lol

Anyone have a cheese grub before?

PK, I think you are confused with which thread you're in.

Nope, I dunno what a cheese grub is, but I have seen Shirl's in the Entertainment book.

Re: Favorite Way To Enjoy Chocolate?

A Hot fudge sundae at the Ghiradelli ice cream shop is by far my first choice. I still think about that one!

There is something about the combination of cold home made vanilla ice cream and the home made hot fudge that grabs me.

Re: Favorite Way To Enjoy Chocolate?

I remember having Kemp's with the Mackinac Island Fudge in it. A little sweet and a little salty. I don't get to eat that anymore since that's a competitor's ice cream for us hahaha. Plus, then I'd have to pay for it. I'll take the free stuff hubby brings home.

I picked up two of those yesterday, one dark chocolate and one milk chocolate, and stuck them in with my BFF's birthday gift. She loves chocolate!

Re: Favorite Way To Enjoy Chocolate?

I love dark chocolate, and will often turn down milk chocolate as it is just too sugary and...well...milky.

I have a chocolate cake recipe that I love to make - has a chocolate ganache on top. It is sooo dense and rich. As far as ice cream goes, it has to be chocolate, with chunks of chocolate covered chocolate, chocolate sauce, and then either a fruit, coconut, or both on top.

Chocolate makes everything better!

Re: Favorite Way To Enjoy Chocolate?

I can't say I really am big on dark chocolate. Too bitter to me. Then again, I don't eat much candy in general. I'd rather eat a homemade dessert over candy any day.

Overall I hate candy - the only exception obviously being dark chocolate.

Re: Favorite Way To Enjoy Chocolate?

I don't hate all candy, just not into it anymore. Although I do like my Reese's PB cups, Brach's maplenut goodies and M&M's once in a while. The new pretzel M&M's are good. I tried those yesterday.

Re: Favorite Way To Enjoy Chocolate?

I find that if I eat a piece of the Dove Dark Chocolate as soon as I feel a headache start coming on, it usually takes care of it. I keep it around just for that reason and I always carry some in my purse...just in case. Someone told me that the caffeine in it is what helps with the headaches?
