Question The End Of Another Decade

Along with the end of this year comes the end of another decade.. how quickly time flies! Seems like just yesterday we were all worried about the Y2K computer bug and what-not!

So, how was your decade? What were your milestones?

Hopefully, we're all better off now than we were 10 years ago.. if only 10 years wiser!

Re: The End Of Another Decade

Milestones....let's see. In the last 10 years we lost a FIL, had a family feud, lost touch with the in-laws, had a son move to Oklahoma and move back to Wisconsin, saw him get married and divorced and married again, got to discover the joy of grand kids, sent another son off to college (hardest thing I've had to do so far), and started feeling our age creep up on us.

It's funny how the decades have progressed. In the 70's I "came of age" and got married; the 80's brought the kids; the 90's I was working and this decade brought grand children. So sad how quickly time passes by. "sigh"

Re: The End Of Another Decade

So Dave, were you one of those who panicked and "stocked up" for Y2K? I have to admit that I was one of those who did. I still have the oil lamps and all the stuff I bought "just in case" sitting in the store room. LOL

Re: The End Of Another Decade

Wow, the last 10 years I think has been the hardest 10 years I have ever had in my life. So much our family has had to endure.

It's so hard to believe it's been a whole 10 years since the nonsense of the YK2 and everyone panicking. I bought a case of Ramon Noodles, and a couple of gallons of water. lol Then I thought about it and said, no...it's crazy and didn't do anything more. I remember sitting that night when the big 2000 came along watching T.V. and a few minutes after midnight thinking..well, I feel the same, everything is the same, guess I can laugh at everything now.

Anyways, 10 years. Not even sure where to start or if I want to bring it all up.

OK, wrote the short version and decided it was to personal. So will just leave it as, it's been a long last 10 years and we have hopes that the next 10 years will be much better.

... a good note, is the fact that I found the bubbler.

Re: The End Of Another Decade

Dave, you're wrong. Not "all" of us worried about the Y2K stuff. Never worried me for a second. I just enjoyed making fun of people that panicked over nothing because I knew it would be nothing. I remember that New Year's as being one of the lamest ever.

Last 10 or rather, the last 8 have been filled with a lot of grief. More downs than ups and the ups were a long climb up only to be let down again. As my husband likes to tell me, the 2000 years really suck so far. Lots of changes took place in the last 10 years. Some good, some bad, many unexpected (and not always good). When life hands you a lemon it sometimes throws the whole bushel basket at once.

I'll take back the '80s and '90s because it was a lot easier back then. The next decade had better be a good one because I deserve it. I'm to ready to kick this year and this whole decade in it's big behind. Got some steel toed boots just for the occasion. Anyone care to join me? Come on PK, you know you want to.
