Re: Alumna sues college because she hasn't found a job
I thought the school was supposed to help with job placement and that was the reason she sued. I've never found schools to very helpful with that even when they say they will help.
She hasn't exactly given much time for the job hunt. She just graduated this spring.
Re: Alumna sues college because she hasn't found a job
Personally, I wouldn't think the school should be responsible for placement, UNLESS they made representations that they would guarantee a job upon graduation.
And, while good education is important in landing a job, there are many other factors that might affect employment: hygiene, chronic tardiness & reported poor work habits in other jobs, even something as simple as poor grammar or spelling on your resume..
I stopped vouching for or referring people for jobs because, while they might make great friends, more often than not, they are cr@ppy workers.

Same here.
We sometimes get good workers who refer family & friends, saying they are great workers etc... 9 times out of 10 it turns out bad.

So far I gave 3-4 people recommendations locally and none have worked out at all.. someone needs help, I will give them money before I give them a job.
