I think there is some kind of seaweed you can eat. I just think of it being slimy and full of crawling slugs and bugs. Oh, I once watched a movie like that. The family got stranded when their boat was washed ashore in a storm and had to live on seaweed. Then the camera zooms in to show the creepy crawlies in it. It was a true story.

I checked around a bit and found a 'kelp recipe' site. I also read you can find it in some energy bars. Maybe the bugs is good for protein.
