Re: Pet Peeves...

Pet Peeve: When you are in a store and can't find prices on items. Oh that is most annoying.

What is worse is when you go to find help and can't find an employee and finally do find one and they they, 'oh, that's not my department'. They then turn and casually say something about finding someone for you and you never see this sales person or the one they are sending over ever again.

Re: Pet Peeves...

How about when you go into a Menards, or Lowes, Ace. Doesn't matter which one they all seem to have that one employee that doesn't know anything and he is always the one that seems to be there to answer your questions. It's annoying since this employee never knows a thing and can't answer any of your questions and you finally give up or get the wrong part. Or you end up telling him more about the product and you feel as if you are teaching him! Yeah, I always get that employee.

Shoe Department: It never fails when I am shopping for shoes and I find the pair I really like the department will not have the size I want. Doesn't matter what size I am looking for, could be for me, or one of my kids, that size I want will not be there.

Re: Pet Peeves...

Another one that bugs me. Why is it that some people will just ring the phone only 2-3 times and hang up. Sometimes that is just not enough time for me to stop, listen, and remember when I last had my phone. lol

Then they have the nerve to complain when I call back that I never answer my phone! Geezzz..

Or worse yet...it never fails, As soon as I walk into the bathroom to take a shower my phone will ring out in the other room and I realized I forgot to bring it into the room with me. Then the person doesn't give up, they call back and call back and call back like 5 times in a row because they know you have a cell phone. Ahhh...just because I have a cell phone doesn't mean I have to be on call 24/7. I can take bathroom breaks, right??? lol

Re: Pet Peeves...

OK, last one for now. lol

How about those that ask you..can I call you right back? I promise it will only take a few minutes. So you hang up and wait... and wait...and wait. Finally you realize they are not going to call back. As soon as you get busy with something they finally end up calling and then get annoyed if YOU can't talk! Yikes! lol

My Epson did that and many other annoying things, like get clogged up and skip lines. I had to constantly run it to clean the print heads. It decided to die one month before I graduated which was bad timing since I didn't have time for that crap. I ended up buying an HP and never have issues with the ink. I don't have to run 10 sheets through to get a new cartridge flowing and never had an issue with the paper. Works great. Oh yeah, found out to be very careful about buying refilled or cheap ink from those places online or even the refills at Walgreens. It will clog your printer or fade faster or not give you as good of a printout. I'm sticking with the HP cartridges from now on.

That has happened to us so many times. Just as bad are the people that promise to help you and don't show up when they say. We had people promise to help us move or paint and never showed up.

Once I had a friend and her boyfriend promise to help us paint. I didn't ask, she volunteered. She showed up and looked around and thought I had time to sit and talk to her. She never helped. It seemed when we were building our house all of my husband's family had to show up unannounced whenever they felt like it just to see the half finished house. It was always when my husband and I were in a hurry to get painting or staining done. They would expect us to sit and talk. Usually it was me who worked while my husband stood around and talked. I let him know I was a bit ticked off about that. Once the house was done of course his family didn't show up to check it out.

When we were putting the stone on the front of our house my FIL said he would help my husband. My FIL used to be a general contractor and did lots of cement work. He had lots of experience. He showed up to look at my husband's work and said it was good and then left. Geez, never asked him to help, but why volunteer and then not keep the promise. I think my parents ended up finishing it while I was at work one day because the builder was getting on us to finish it. The builder said we should have been out there with a spotlight at night working on it in summer. This was after putting in a full day at work on top of that. Geez, not like the builder went out of his way to be on time ever. He did nice work, but just slow.

Now that we are working on our lower level of the house, my BIL has volunteered many times, but never is around to help. We help him out a lot with stuff. He calls hubby all the time to help him, but nothing in return.

Lots of pet peeves in the post.

That sounds like when I went to buy some fungicide for the plants and asked where it was at Home Depot. The woman in the plant dept. gave me an odd look and then I said it was the stuff for mildew on plants. She got kind of testy with me about it. Like I shouldn't know more than her. I was just trying to explain what it was, because she sounded like she was confused by it.

Re: Pet Peeves...

People that call really early on a weekend when you like to sleep in. My brother in law calls sometimes like 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning. We like to sleep in since we stay up late. I won't even think of calling someone before 9:00 or 10:00 on a weekend. I know others who like to sleep late or even if they are up, they aren't fully awake. On week days it's not so bad since most get up a bit earlier.

Re: Pet Peeves...

Pet peeve: Trying to find my way around downtown Milwaukee since they redid the whole interstate. The exits and everything has me all confused now. I drove around for half an hour this morning just trying to get to Potawatomi. I could see it, but couldn't get to it.

Another pet peeve about the casino. Since I was there for job related things and if you left the conference room to go to the bathroom, you had to go through all the smoke filled hallways. I came back reeking like smoke. Not a good impression to make with employers.

I had an experience at Lowe's this Spring. I asked this employee for a certain plant and she didn't know what it was. I explained and she kinda looked around and said she didn't know. I then asked if they had a different kind and again she didn't know. I came up on her a while later and had another question for her and she finally admitted that she lived at home with her parents and never planted anything in her life! She didn't know a thing about gardens, plants, flowers, nothing and she was working in the Garden Center. She knew how to water them.

The woman I dealt with was older than me, so I'm sure she has planted many gardens. Not sure why she was so confused since there about 3 things you put on plants: Fertilizer, bug killer and mildew killer/fungicide.

The girl you had should spend time looking at the plant tags and learn the names of the plants. Also in her spare time look at some garden books or catalogs. Learn the names of common plants people grow around here. I visited a lot of garden centers when we first had our house and I looked at all those catalogs that came in the mail. I learned a lot in a short time.

Re: Pet Peeves...

I HATE when you call someone, they don't answer & then text you either right away or later on to ask what you needed! Unless you are in a place where you cant call back, but can text (work for example) then don't bother!

Re: Pet Peeves...

People who set a goal age for marriage... i hate that!

2 of my friends decided they HAD TO be married by a certain age, one by 25 the other by 30, because they didn't want to be an "old hag and be alone" (i kinda took offense to that by the way lol).. They both set out to achieve that goal a couple yrs ago, one was married last year Feb the other in June & today they are both divorced and engaged to someone new already!

I told them that this "old hag" was way too smart to go down that road & when it's meant to be i'll know it, but age wont be a factor! I will be married one day MAYBE or maybe not, that's in gods hands, but never would i want to do it more than once. If it didn't work out so be it, but it wont be because i set a "goal" & settled to reach that goal, that's so dumb! that's setting yourself up for failure!

Re: Pet Peeves...

People who think they have done everything.

Like when you are talking to them about something and they go " oh I've had that happen" or " I've done that". It drives me crazy especially if they are the same age as me.

I had a friend once who went through absolutly everything that I experienced. I kind of find that hard to believe. Considering that she was younger than me and I wasn't that old at that time.

But she's done eveything and said everything.

Re: Pet Peeves...

Not sure if anyone posted this one before or not...but yesterday I came across something that I thought of the bubbler and said to myself...now I have to post this!

I went to our boys swim meet and drove up and down the parking lot that was closest to the door that I wanted to go into. Wouldn't you know that the parking lot was all full...that is except for the few spaces that was left but you couldn't park in them because the person in each slot next to the open space decided to go way over the yellow line and take up both spaces! Oh that is so annoying.

All I can say to those that take more than one parking space: either learn to park, or if you are so afraid of someone hitting your precious car with their door if they park next to you..then go park in the very back and walk. Let the rest of us have the closer spaces!
