Pet Peeves...

Just seen a guy wearing flip flops with socks.. sandals with socks are ick enough, but flip flops??? lol not cool!

I have a pet peeve about bike speedometers. They cost a lot and only last a couple of years. They work sometimes and then the next day they don't. Have to constantly adjust the magnet on the wheel or wiggle the wire. A few weeks ago I bought a wireless one and it didn't work at all. Come to think of it, we took it back twice. Neither of them worked, which is too bad because it had a calorie counter on it.

When 2 (or more) people walk in the same direction, side by side & no one moves when someone comes from the opposite direction... seriously, do they think side walks, hallways etc... are considered one ways?

I have a more than a pet peeve..I think it's called a huge 'beef' with contractors, etc. I am so annoyed that I can't seem to find someone interested in some work not to mention when I do and I ask for a bid they promise to either call back or they will come and give a bid and never show up.

For example I have a tree that needs to come down ASAP. I was told the core of the tree is rotting away and it's dangerous. So I get on the phone and call, and call and so far after several weeks I yet to have one serious business come and give me a bid. grrrr...what is wrong with people, thought it would be simple to offer work, but it's like no one wants to do anything.

Seriously, is there so much work out there for companies that they can pick and choose now?

This isn't the only bid I'm trying to get since I have other work as well but so far for other things I got one person that took 2 weeks to submit a bid then that one was about 2 times the amount I figured it should cost. Go figure.

Just witnessed this a while ago here at work... Why do people ask advice or opinion & then get mad when you give them what they asked for? That is a peeve of mine!

Co-worker 1: My husband insists that i go to his moms house for dinner, i hate going there because she puts me down for everything & talks down to me like i'm dumb. I need to get out of it! how would you go about getting out of it?

Co-worker 2: Does your husband see how his mom treats you? Have you brought it to his attention & pointed out to him that she makes you feel bad & this is why you don't want to be around her? Make him understand how mean she is to you.

co-worker 1: YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!! I can't say that to him! You obviously never been married!!

Co-worker 1 stomps off mad at everyone & wont talk to anyone the rest of the day... like we all did something wrong lol

I cant help but laugh, but why ask advice if you don't want it?? Seriously, i'm blunt, i will tell you what i think & you can get mad if you want... thank god she didn't come to me, but she's mad at me as if i was the one she asked anyway lol


And why in the hell is your man not defending you to his mom, if in fact she really is that mean to you?? why would he even want to subject his wife to that? Of course i wonder this, but wont bother talking to her about it, since she obviously doesn't really want input

I know what you mean. That happens to me a lot! I find the men are worse than the women about moving. Whatever happened to ladies first?

Because he's a doormat around his mama. I bet he still calls her that instead of mom.

Not sure why she can't tell her husband how she feels. Maybe she should tell her MIL that those things bother her. Depends on what is being said and how the relationship is. Maybe she is a doormat, too.

So true... Just this morning (here at work) There's this one young guy who NEVER moves for anyone (annoying!) was walking down the center of the isle while everyone in the opposite direction would step aside to let him through, then continue on their way... i didn't stop to let him through, yet stayed on the correct side of the isle & he ran right into me... mind you, had he been walking on ONE side that wouldn't have happened!

He shrugs & says "I'll assume you didn't see me coming?" LOL my response "I'll assume the same, since you were walking down the center of the isle like you were alone in the hall" he rolled his eyes & kept walking down the center...

He's mid to late 20's & a punk who thinks he's always right. He was talking about Michael Jackson earlier saying he was a molester & doesnt understand why so many care that he is gone when its a blessing to parents everywhere & Friday he was asking what the big deal was about Farah anyway since she was so "old", he says he "just dont get it"... WOW! I told him he obviously is too young to 'get it'! When he grows up he just might "get it" better. I dislike this kid so bad!

People take crap from him all the time & talk behind his back, that's not my style, i just say it to his face, which is why he hates me lol oh well!

He's so annoying... maybe cuz he so much younger than everyone else or maybe cuz so many let him get away with that crap, i am not the one!

Or worse, people who dump their unwanted pets off on the side of the road or neighborhood other than their own... simply rude.

Knew a couple who's dog once had 5 pups. They kept them for a couple months, until their landlord complained, then they just dumped them off in different parts of town, instead of the pound or whatever... that made me mad, but i heard about it 2 weeks after the fact.

Joined a forum one day last week & find that the admin starts drama to have posts or debates or whatever... It's so obvious to an outsider (me) that he does this to cause his own group drama, so that he can overpower the arguement, throwing in there that he is the boss! lol annoying & soooo not where i'll be a poster!

In reading his boards its sooo obvious he starts these political posts to cause fights... he will take from one topic & see where everyone gets angry & what not & start a new topic stating the opposite side of what everyone else seems to aim for... after reading a LOT of stuff there it's obvious in sooo many posts & i also think he is a few names arguing with himself... in fact 2 of the names i'm possitive are him & he is arguing both sides with himself to get others to join i guess... LOL funny to watch but dumb.

Good for you! I've done that where I refuse to move when on a sidewalk and 2 people are hogging the whole thing. Why should you move when you're on the correct side. They can move one behind the other to let others by.

10 years sooner even, he's only 27 or 28 now...

The older guys (30's and 40's) were all talking about having had her poster on their walls & he was rolling his eyes saying "she wasn't that hot, i looked her up on google" so i asked "did you look her up at her age in the 80's?? or now?" He laughed & pointed out that he was born in the 80's (i want to say 1980 or 81) lol

I responded "WOW! my kids were born in the 80's!! That explains a lot!" lol

Hmmm, I thought she was very pretty back in the day and I'm not even a guy. Next ask him who he thinks is "hot," I'm guessing it's someone who's not so hot. He probably didn't like it that Farrah wore a one piece instead of a bikini lol.

When I was in a class a year ago or so, there was a 20 year old girl who asked who Farrah was. Not sure why it was brought up in class. I thought it was weird that she never knew what Charlie's Angels looked like since on TV you have reruns growing up and movies were made from it later on. She goes to look up Farrah on a laptop and said she was weird looking lol. If that's weird looking, then what are most of these stars?

That's funny my 18 yr old son said she was "weird lookiing" last month when we watched the bio on her battle with cancer.




Another pet peeve that i had happen last night... People who continue to interrupt when you are talking, even after you ask them to stop interrupting you!

My husband does that and it drives me nuts! I won't let him take any change in his pockets when we go anywhere together, nor do I let him hang onto the keys for the same reason.

One of my big peeves is people who pack their cigarette packs.. used to have to do that in the old days. Don't think it calls for 5 mins of rapping their cigarette pack.

Something that really sets me off is when someone hangs up on me because they think they are right and I don't know what I'm talking about because I have a vagina and not a pee pee.

One of my husband's friends did that to me yesterday so I called him back and left a nice message on his cell phone. He pretends to be so pious and religious just because he goes to church every Saturday but in fact he is just a hypocrite. He has cheated on his wife, he doesn't work most of the time and he gets disability because he claims he can't work but yet he works for my husband on occasion so I know that he can work. He is just scamming the system for free money...and that's another one of my pet peeves!

This is the same guy who came over once several years ago and asked for some money from my husband because he was broke. I thought I would help him out by bagging up a couple sacks full of groceries from the store room so his family would have some food at least, but when I tried to give them to him, he said he didn't want that...he wanted money! What a jerk!

People who want money instead of groceries usually have another agenda.. like alcohol. I have several neighbors like that.
