Pet Peeve. When a store clerk swears a product is just sooo good, you buy it, get it home and find out it is not good.
Reminds me of the time I bought some expensive shampoo from the salon and beautician insisted that you only needed a little amount at a time compared to store brands. I bought it and it hardly lathered at all and I ended up using more to clean my hair. One reason I got it was because it was dark purple and I liked the color of the shampoo. Sigh, seduced by packing once again.
Because they lead just a dull life they need to talk about others. Just like working in a factory, all you get is gossip.
Factories, retail, offices... all the same.
It's those who form cliques with co-workers (or wherever) who get that way.
I'm a "say it to your face, like it or not" kind of person & have been called out on it from many in my time lol I always point out that i could have said it behnd your back, but i prefer my way.
Cliques, that's very true. You know what they say about people hang out with their own kind.
I bet the gossipers wouldn't have the guts to say much to other's faces if they had to.
The worst are the ones that make up stuff and spread. When I worked in a factory they had me doing drugs, cheating and flirting with guys. I just didn't know I did these things until they said so LOL. You know that if you talk to your male coworker then you must be cheating. Talking about every day things or work is flirting. If you talk to a coworker about an order and he's a druggie, than you must be one too. That's how it went. I just tried to be friendly and say hi to people and look what it got me. I even had one coworker come up to me and said that I cheated on my husband one weekend when he was out of town. I informed the gossiper that my husband and I had never been apart for a day since we've been married and we did everything together. That shut him up fast. That comment got me so upset. I didn't want people to think I was that way. I would never do a thing like that.
I went to school with a girl who was the biggest gossip ever. If she didn't have any dirt on someone, she made it up and it was usually very nasty stuff too. One day in gym class, she ticked off the wrong person who threw her up against a locker and started punching her. She had to be pulled off by the gym teacher as just about everyone in class was cheering her on. Unfortunately, we both ended up working in the same factory right after high school and she continued her nasty gossip. After I got married she had everyone believing that I had a "quick" wedding because I was pregnant, which I wasn't. I had dated my husband for four years prior to that and was engaged for a whole year! I worked there for 13 years with that kind of crap going on all the time. I heard a few months ago that she was diabetic and didn't take care of herself and now she is almost totally blind. Guess what goes around comes around some times.

They say we are our own worst critics. If you think about we do critisizes ourselves much harsher than others. So if she was that harsh about others, how do you think she sees herself?

I can relate Blue... since i started working here last year i have had sex with both a 30 yr old security gaurd & a 22 year old chemist & now i'm working on my 47 yr old Director... only problem is (like yourself) i didn't know i was having relations with any of these people (who i have only spoke to in relation to work) until i was told about it by another security gaurd, funny thing is i actually use to date this security gaurd before i worked here, yet no one knows that & i talk to him all the time & no rumors have ever spread about us lol
the funniest for me was being a night manager at wal-mart, That's where i met my bff, she was a day manager & when she came to 3rd shift people noticed we took vacations together, would take smoke & lunch breaks together etc... We also share another bestfriend & he is gay. We went to gay clubs with him here & there, as long as he was willing to do other clubs with us as well... what do you think the rumors were about me & my girl?? lol
We thought it was funny & would walk around the gossipers while holding hands or talk as if we lived together (never have)... it was funny, yet so high school! at least it made the night shift interesting though, especially when she started dating another manager & everyone questioned if she had dumped me for a man lol
That's just like a site I used to go to a lot. At first I met some very fun people and I still talk to them online. Then a bunch of annoying jerks had to join the site and basically chase everyone off that was a nice person. I still keep wishing they will get sick of it and leave as most people eventually move on.
Anyway, I got bored last night and decided to go on to see if it had changed. I used another name since registration isn't required. They never figured out who I was. They kept singing the praises of this guy that is known to be the biggest jerk on the whole site. They said he keeps away "sh**" and I brought up the fact that he also keeps away good people because they get annoyed. Then they kept saying that my friend (who has been the target of Big Jerk and his minions for a long time) always starts stuff when she's on. I've been a witness for a very long time, she doesn't start anything, in fact, she almost always tries to ignore it. I know I couldn't put up with that. Big Jerk has been banned over 100 times by the site's owner. They ban the IP address, but he just gets a new one and comes back on to start all over. My friend is the only member that has the personal (work) phone number of the site's owner. She will call him up when she is being harassed, then Big Jerk gets banned. Big Jerk isn't even an American, he's from Greece. It's an American web site.
The group that hangs around with Big Jerk are Americans and they join in on the pestering and spamming of my friend. They try to get in the way of everyone that even tries to talk to her. They don't want anyone to talk to her, so you know that I get harassed when I'm on with her. Most of the hate for her started by a couple of people spewing their hate and the sheeple just follow them. If they got to know her, they would find out she is very smart and knows about a lot of things. They could learn a lot from her if they listened.
Ha, I got off track. I was going to say I was on the site last night and kept asking what was so bad that my friend does. None of them could come up with anything. None could say what stuff she starts since they really don't know. They just repeat what they have been told. The only thing they could come up with was that she blocks them. I said they probably had it coming as I don't get blocked because I'm nice to her. They purposely try to get under her skin and even will admit it. She usually just ignores most of it, but sometimes it's too hard to ignore and becomes impossible to even have a convo. I went back a bit later last night and a couple of the gang were trash talking her for half hour straight! Mind you, she hasn't been on the site for almost 2 months. I was on invisible (a secret glitch in the site that only a few of us know about) and I could "spy" on them.
A couple of weeks ago a few of us good people found another site to go to that is similar, but with more features. It has registration and is moderated. The site is much larger which makes it easier to stay away from jerks. You also get your own space to personalize or chat in private away from the public areas. I think we might stay here. I've been sworn to secrecy that I can't tell anyone from the old site to come join us LOL. That's ok by me, because I don't have time for high school behavior.
I just found out from my online friend that Big Jerk has a Twitter and Myspace account set up about her. It's really quite disturbing what he says on there. Talks about killing her and that she should just die, then he talks about guns and stabbing. He even used to tell her that he hired a hitman to come get her. He got a hold of her picture a while back from Photobucket. What's really sad is that her niece is in the picture and she's just a little girl that is innocent. How pathetic this guy is!
In the past he had 2 or 3 other Myspaces and 2 blogs set up about her. She reported the Myspaces to get shut down. The blogs were taken down since he must have figured out they can trace that stuff. He also has a definition of her on Urban Dictionary, which we found a while back and keep giving it a thumbs down rating LOL. There might also be a Facebook on her, but it hasn't been found yet. Would need to know what name he gave it. Lord knows what else if floating around out there.

I've seen many pages of weirdos & stalkers/haters.
People who follow others around just to contradict everything they post online... which i guess falls in with my pet peeve is drama queens. I have 3 on 2 different forums & since i have them blocked, i only know about it when others quote them, the quotes appear since the person quoting them isn't blocked. it's kinda funny, yet childish. however they are apparently my biggest fans if they spend that much time trying to contradict me lol it's kinda flattering
People who don't listen & have to ask how to do something over & over... example, there's a guy i work with who does the same job daily, yet for a month straight has asked how to do it every single day... i see him coming & walk away. I let others get frustrated with him.
I totally agree. Most drama queens are very insecure and have to have things focused on how they want things and get so upset if they have to think about how others feel.
Gossip,, people should remember, when listening to someone that is a gossip, this same person will also gossip about you. So watch out.
To bad in just about any situation there is always someone that has to cause a stir. That is my big pet peeve. It is very annoying.

another pet peeve...just happened today so while I am thinking about it I shall post it.
When shopping in a store you can't find prices on things and worse yet, you can't find an employee! I needed prices on some plants, I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything that showed how much they were. I walked half the store on the inside as well as the garden section, looked for a phone or bell, nothing. I left the full cart I had sitting at the register, (which had no one at it) and walked out. lol You think they will get the hint? ....nah.

Worse than not finding an employee is finding one that has no clue about what you're talking about.
lol no...worse is finding an employee like I did the other day at our Kohl's that has an attitude! And doesn't want to work! We found a shirt I wanted for my son and asked this male employee if he knew of another one in a larger size or if he could find where I could look since actually my daughter found the shirt in the wrong section but knew my younger son would like it. It was just what we were needing.
He was with such an attitude of, oh, I have to go look in back for one, took his time, and let us know this was the last thing he wanted to do. He even walked away slowly. Oh that makes me really not happy! lol
Turned out the cashier helped us by giving us a number of another store that may have one, I called and they were really nice and found one right away. Saved the shirt so we could get it and all was OK. The first employee needed an attitude adjustment or a different job!

The site I was talking about in the other post only has temp blocking, which means they can refresh and come back unblocked. So they keep refreshing over and over while you keep blocking over and over.

I have a pet peeve from yesterday. We went on State Street in Madison to go eat outside which I like doing in summer. The place we went to had 2 very loud men arguing at one of the tables. At first I just thought it was loud convo, but it sounded like a bunch of gibberish to me. I thought maybe they were foreign until I heard every other word was mother effer this and mother effer that.They talked like the had marbles in their mouth. We ended up eating inside, then the boneheads came inside by the front area arguing. They had been too mad at each other to eat the pizza they ordered, so they had the waitress box it up. Isn't that stupid? At least they had to sense to leave finally.

YES one of the people, i mentioned in the other post, i have to keep blocking, she complains about everything & anything and at least once a week i have to block her again & to top it all off that forum doesn't have block in the chat room & she lives there (must not work i guess) no matter what time day or night people go into chat they say she is there to greet them, but she is sooo full of drama on the board that no one wants to chat anymore in the room, because you know it's a matter of time before she will start gossiping about someone... the mods say they cant stop her from gossiping because she does most of it in messenger (that forum has instant messaging) & we get it second hand from others, but you know it's coming from her & it drives everyone nuts! I seldom post there now because of her and her followers, which sux because it's a great site with great people otherwise.
It does suck that one person or several can ruin a forum for everyone. I know how that goes.

Yes, it does suck for everyone else when there is that one 'thorn in the side' member that always wants to be important, or starts things with others for no reason. I've been there and usually just put up with the person. I won't let anyone run me off if it is otherwise a good site. Now on the other hand, I know of one site that the whole forum turned that way. Seemed as if no matter what one posted you felt like everyone swarmed down on certain members and picked on them. That's when I'm out of there. lol

This is a great site that has great members. There can be an issue once in a while but we have great mods here that try their hardest to keep things civil at all times. Sometimes I notice someone having a difficult time if a mod has to step in and offer advice or correct a problem and they take it personally or sometimes we get someone forgetting the rules and say something mean but in general we have excellent members and I love being on this forum.
Forums are meant to be fun and our forum brings that to many people.

Yes, that is always great. But this was one of those times that time was short and we had to have a 'new' shirt ASAP. lol I'm sure everyone knows how that goes.
