Pet peeve: At Summerfest or any of the ethnic festivals at Summerfest grounds, people standing on the tables to watch the bands. Please don't stand on the place I have to eat from. Why isn't this rule enforced? What if someone takes a wrong step and smacks their head? I just find it gross to try and find a clean place to eat at the tables. They could stencil "No Standing on Tables" on the tables. Or they could go around and pressure wash the tables. Maybe this should go under "Things that gross me out" topic.
I hate being put on hold when another call comes in..
Agreed! Especially by my kids!
If i'm expecting a call & someone else calls to just chat or whatever, i will let them know upfront that if this other call comes in i will have to let them go or i can call them back after the other person has called. If they are taking other calls, during our convo, i feel like they are saying my call just isn't important enough to them.

This is why i have a problem eating at picnic tables, like at parks & such. People sit their butts on those tables & much much worse! no thanks, i'll hold my plate or set it on my lap.
I absolutely detest having to clean up a picnic table after another group has used it.. same thing with the booths in fast food joints.. I hate sitting down only to find the table hasn't been properly cleaned.

We were talking about how much money we could make selling place mats or garbage bags to put on the tables there. I know I'm not the only one grossed out. I'm surprised that they let it get so dirty since it's an otherwise clean festival grounds. You always see them cleaning everything else.
When we go camping the first thing I do is take an old rag and wash of the picnic table, then I get out a nice big plastic table cloth to put over that. We also sit on towels in case the tables have dirt on them. It's more comfortable that way, too. Germ phobe? Maybe.
OK, just today I got really upset with our terrible, rude mailman.
We were just coming down the drive and I saw the mailman walking up our walk towards the mailbox. Now keeping in mind my mailbox is like 3 feet away from the side of our driveway, so I stopped and as he was approaching the box I nicely called out a 'hi' from my van window and started to reach out for our mail. He totally refused to look my way, walked right to the box, put the mail in, turned and walked away ignoring me! I had to get out of the van and walk over and get my mail out.
OK, I understand maybe, just maybe, it's a security thing and he is not suppose to just 'hand' over the mail to me but a little smile, a quick hello back?? Would it REALLY KILL the guy to be half way human? ahhhh
Did I explain that this guy has seen me numerous times so he totally knows I am the one living here and the mail is mine???
Rude. Oh and no, he did not have ear plugs and listening to music. This is just how this guy is.
Oh, yeah, I kinda said a few unkind things as he was walking away on the order of how I'm not going to bother to tip the mail guy at Christmas etc. lol
Just ticked me off.
So that is my main pet peeve for the day.

I hate it when people call at all hours of the night, knowing damn well i get up at 6am for work.
I have a friend who works 2nd shift & she will call me to talk to my voicemail at any hour of the night, because she stays up all night! which is sometimes ok, but when i forget to silence my ringer it takes me forever to get back to sleep! I hate that!
My previous girlfriend worked for the local post office here so I know most of them.. they really aren't supposed to hand you your mail but mine do it all the time.
Seems funny he wouldn't even acknowledge you tho.. sure he wasn't listening to an mp3 player? I've had that happen before.

Pet peeve: People who don't hold the door open for you.
They walk into a store right before you and let the door go so that it practically closes in your face. What ever happened to manners? I always hold the door for people if someone is behind me and I taught my son to do the same. When he was a teenager, people actually were shocked that he would hold the door for them when they were coming out or hold it open and let them go in ahead of him. He got stuck holding a door open for a long time at several events we went to because people just kept coming in and out. LOL

No, I thought that and quickly checked. It's just the way he is. Unfriendly and rude.
I miss our mail lady that we use to have. The kids would wait on the steps for her and she would talk to them and give the mail to them. Or if we had a package which we did quite often when I was buying alot on Ebay she would walk it up to us in the back and talk about my flowers. If we weren't home she would make sure it was in a safe place on our back porch so it wasn't visable in the front.

I hate it when you do something nice for someone and they don't even so much as say Thank you! It is like they expect you to "serve" them and do it because they are so deserving or special or something.
Last year my husband was doing some work at a house in a nearby town and he told me how extremely dirty this house was inside since it had been sitting empty for a few years. A young, newly married couple had bought it and was going to be moving in the following weekend, so the next day I took my cleaning supplies and went with my husband to this house. I cleaned all day long and must have vacuumed up at least 100 spiders! I even left a nice bouquet of flowers to congratulate them on their new home when I was done. We never got so much as a thank you from them.
People who have to throw cigarette butts all over instead of using the ash tray or one of the butt containers outside. People who leave butts around our driveway or by they curb. I don't even smoke and I don't want it on my property. Did you know that cigarettes take 2 years to break down. That's how long those will sit there then.
People who flick lit cigarettes out the car window in front of you or anywhere really. Come on, people, stop being a slob.

I agree, especially in my yard! I didn't even do that in my yard when i smoked! ever drive behind someone at night when they flick that cig? I hate when it hits my vehicle!
How about those who stand right outside a store or any public place & smoke... that irks me!
Why is it that when you were a white or light colored shirt that some kind of red sauce always ends up on your shirt?
Et tu, Blue? LOL It seems like I always end up with food on my clothes, especially when we go out to eat. I've gotten to where I actually hold a napkin under the fork when I'm taking a bite to keep it from getting on me. It stands to reason the one time I don't, I will end up wearing my food for sure! Spaghetti is the worst one of all!
When you come back out to your car and the person next to you parks so close you can barely open your door.
I had that happen about a year ago actually and it was a pickup truck with big side mirrors and he parked where my door had only inches to open before it would hit the mirror. Grrrr...
