I LOVE Fred Astaire and Judy Garland movies! Thanks Dave.

No parades for us though since there aren't any happening around our area that I know of. Holiday get togethers are big events in my family. Most of my siblings and all their kids are coming to my house for Easter dinner. I'm making turkey with all the trimmings plus everyone is bringing a dish to pass. We are having a DQ cake for dessert instead of pies because there are many birthdays in the family in March and April so we also celebrate those. There won't be an Easter egg hunt this year since most of the kids are teenagers now. We are especially looking forwards to seeing the two babies that are new to the family since our last get together. We are expecting nice weather so we will be able to be outside too.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, memorable, and Happy Easter!

Re: Plans for Easter Sunday?

I wish I could find the pic of me with the Easter Bunny.. my mom used to say, "Dave! When are you gonna grow up? You're 37 years old.."

When we were kids, we always did the church thing up big on Easter. Suits and the whole bit..

Don't know that I'll do anything special tomorrow, dinner-wise..

Happy Easter to you too..

Re: Plans for Easter Sunday?

I will be going to my husband's side of the family for Easter. My family doesn't do anything anymore for Easter, not since us kids moved out of the house years ago. I will be trying to figure out how I can get out of eating the second meal they always have. I will be planning my escape LOL.

Re: Plans for Easter Sunday?

Easter egg hunts are always fun.. both hiding the eggs when you're older and finding them when you're a kid.

Re: Plans for Easter Sunday?

I don't remember doing Easter egg hunts, unless I did them when I was really little. I dunno.

When I was a kid my parents hid the candy all over the house, not just the whole basket. You had to find all the candy one by one and then fill your basket. We had a lot of fun with that and it kept us busy for quite a while. Every once in a while you would find a piece of candy hiding behind the furniture 3 months later when you were cleaning.

I had a convo the other day with someone that was surprised that my family stopped doing the Easter basket thing when we were in grade school. I think high school and beyond is a bit too old for that kind of thing, just like trick or treating is. This person seemed to think that a "kid" should get an Easter basket until they moved out the house. I moved out at 23 and I sure didn't want an Easter basket at that age.

Re: Plans for Easter Sunday?

I just read somewhere yesterday that a young girl on an Easter Egg Hunt came across some eggs near a trail. Turns out they were eggs used to bait a trap for some kind of wild animal and she ended up nearly losing her hand when it got caught in the trap.. I'm wondering of someone didn't set that out deliberately to hurt a kid. They said her hand was nearly severed.
