Arrow Movie Remakes and Sequels

Apparently Hollywood can't come up with anything new.. checking over my favorite movie sites for upcoming movies, etc. I see there are so many remakes and sequels in the works..

Anything you're looking forward to and can't wait to see in this vein or maybe something you're dreading?

Alot of people are looking forward to the sequel to Twilight.. I wasn't all that impressed by the first movie to say I'd want to see another..

NewLine is relaunching the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise with a new Freddy Krueger.. bleh!

Re: Movie Remakes and Sequels

Have to agree here. Over the years there have been countless remakes of old movies and television series.

The lack of original thought is disappointing to say the least.

I guess that's why I've always like Eastwood and even Tarentino.

Re: Movie Remakes and Sequels

Yeah, even tho Tarentino has done flicks in the old style (Grindhouse), at least the stories were original.

I think some movies can benefit from a remake where the effects, etc are updated to modern standards but c'mon, Eddie Murphy as The Nutty Professor?!

How can you top this?

Jerry Lewis as The Nutty Professor at the gym

Re: Movie Remakes and Sequels

Not only do they remake movies, they make movies out of old TV shows or cartoon characters.

I find that a lot of movies that I've seen lately either end stupid or just are stupid all the way through. Can't anyone make a good movie anymore? I find myself not recommending very many movies to others these days.

I agree about the remakes. There are some classics that just shouldn't be messed with.

I've seen a couple recently that ended stupid too that left me thinking "why did I waste my money on that?" One good movie I saw recently and I would recommend it to others was "Slumdog Millionaire". At least it had a plot and it ended like I had hoped it would.

Re: Movie Remakes and Sequels

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the new Three Stooges trailer (on reflection, that is):

And looking forward to the new Batman movie:
