That Little Penny In The Parking Lot

Remember this every time you pass that little penny in the parking lot.

I always thought that it was for good luck, but I love this version better.

I found a penny today
Laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny,
This little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from heaven,
that's what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you,
They toss a penny down;
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
To make a smile out of your frown.
So, don't pass by that penny
When you're feeling blue.
It may be a penny from heaven
That an Angel's tossed to you.

My Mom passed away over 5 years ago now. She was my rock and I still miss her very much. Well when she was a live she told me the story about Pennies from Heaven. Since she passed we now find pennies in strange places and we think of her. I will just have cleaned off the table or swept the floor, and will find a penny laying there when I look again. I will be sitting somewhere and get up to come back a few minutes later and there can be a penny. I find a penny on the counter, or walking in the bathroom on the floor, or the computer desk. Just about any place a penny could just pop up. The kids and I will stop and say 'hi mom', or grandma since we think it's her saying hi to us and letting us know she is still thinking of us.

aww that's awesome PK! I bet she smiles down at you all, each time her pennies are found.

I think I get my pennies from a bad angel since I always get bad luck when I pick them up. Maybe I need one of your lucky pennies.

I've had a couple Angels miss me lately.. found a couple pennies over the last few days. I think they're just trying to let me know they're watching me!

This is so, so weird..all this past week, I've been finding pennies all over the house.. one was literally stuck to my leg when I got out of bed yesterday!

Then today I found a couple on the living room rug...

After, I walked across the lot to see the apartment manager.. on my way back, there was 52 cents in pennies spread across the parking lot!

How weird is that?

My Mom has been gone 6 years this November 21st and we still find pennies in the strangest places. More often than not though it's in a place I just cleaned and I will turn around and find a penny.

Not sure if it really is a sign from her or not but it feels good to think it could be. I always stop and say a quick hello to her when I find one.

I've been finding a lot of pennies lately.. it's almost as if no one cares about pennies anymore.. of course, there isn't much you can buy with a penny any more.. I don't even think you can buy "penny candy" these days.

I was feeling kinda down the other day and happen to glance down and found a penny where there was none just minutes before. I picked it up and it was dated the same year my Mom passed away.

I think pennies will always be special.

Yeah, I used to collect indian head cents.. may pick that up again as they're beautiful coins..

Sometimes I wonder how pennies manage to get where they do.. it's rare that i don't find at least one penny on my daily walks. The other day, I found two.
