In other threads we've talked about things that we find disgusting like letting the dog lick your ice cream cone or sharing a glass with someone. What is it that makes you say ewwwwww?
I'll start. When I find a hair in my food.
People that with dirty fingernails and they eat with those same hands.
I was at a fast food restaurant once and the guy making the sandwiches kept wiping his nose with his hand and touching the bun. It wasn't my food, but the person in line ahead of me. I was so glad someone else made my food for me.

EWWW!!! What grosses me out the most is when someone picks their nose or a scab and eats it!!! There was a guy in my high school who used to do that in class all the time. Also, when he came to our house to eat once, he licked his butter knife and then stuck it back in the butter for more. GROSS! Needless to say I don't invite him over for meals any more! ACK!
When restaurants use a wicker basket to serve the food in even if there is paper lining it. The paper never seems to cover it all and you know it never gets washed.
I was at a party once and one of the guys was eating his burger. The ketchup dripped on the dingy carpeting and he took his finger to wipe it off and then lick it off. Yuck!
ok......I can't watch someone throw up, I'm not the friend that can hold the hair back. I just throw up too.
Also another thing......but it's really PICKY. I get this from having been a bartender/bar mgr for over 26+ years........and it happens to me whenever I order a drink. (these youngins!!!) The bartender makes the drink/pours the shot....then grasps the glass with their fingers over the rim of the glass and passes it to you. OMG! Gee whiz Chet...thanks for the finger spooge on the rim of the glass I have to DRINK FROM!
THAT is probably my biggest "food & drink" thing. Oh yea....and when they grab stemware from an overhead rack by sticking their FINGERS inside the glass to pull it down? NO, I don't think so. That's what the STEM is for! Oh yea.....AND....tee hee hee......they grab DIRTY glasses the same way, so they can carry more over to the sink/glasswasher and then procede to make another drink!
Excuse me...can I have another Top Shelf Margarita on the rocks with your dirty fingers inside my glass please?
OK, I'm done now.

Like I said in another thread a while back about the girl that reached into the big jar of olives and used her fingers like a stainer to get the juice out. Then she placed the handful of olives in the container used by the bartender. Ewww
I remember that! Gross! I always kept disp. rubber gloves (medical quality) behind the bar for that kind of stuff. When my bartenders stocked, they better be wearing them when they dig in the fruit jars!
I still, to this day, cannot eat off of salad bars and buffets.....just because of what I have seen behind the scenes and also what people do up front when filling their plates. No thanks.
One place I worked at, a major popular chain restaurant and an upscale one as well.....well, those yummy honey buns they brought out to each table before ordering? Usually 5-6 in a pretty basket? When the server removed the uneaten ones, they went straight back to a bin in the kitchen where they were "recycled" for the next table if they were still "fresh".
Yes, that's against health regs, but if no one told..........GROSS!
Sort of like snack mix at a bar too! UHG!

Call me weak, but that makes me gag, just the thought ick!
I wont join in on pot lucks at work, too many hands in the mix & i don't know where they been or if their hands were clean! Same with going out to eat, but i still go out... though i know decent restaurants do take precautions.
Yuck, I won't touch the basket of snacks on the bar. Not unless I've seen it come fresh from the bag first.
Once I was at a bar on New Year's and they got out the food after midnight. The bartender dumped the bin of ham sandwiches on the bar. Yuck, who knows what else was on the bar before that?
Another thing I don't like is when restaurants put the biscuits on top of the packages of crackers in a basket. You know that others touched the packages of crackers before you and it's touching your biscuits.

I know what you mean. There was a lady I worked with that would make cakes and things and bring them in. I never took any since people would say she probably lets her cats walk on the counter. She wasn't the cleanest person around. That was pretty sad, too since at one time she worked in a school cafeteria and worked at a bakery.
My husband just reminded me of something gross my cousins used to do. When they sat down to dinner and had to wipe off their mouth, they would pass the "community towel." They all used the same towel to wipe off mouths and hands. Guess they never heard of napkins.

Kinda the same reason i do that as well... A lady i use to work with would bake stuff for me & my kids, she had many cats, she smelled & her under her nails were unbelievably black & gross... i eventually started leaving them in the lunch room for all to eat, no way would i feed that to my kids.

OMG that's gross!
People blowing their nose while I'm eating!
Passing gas of any kind at the table... uncalled for in my book & anyone who has ever eaten at my house knows this lol
I don't drink from a glass in a restaurant without a straw... cant do it!
I always use a straw now, but not with a glass of wine of course. So that's icky if I can't see them pull the glasses from the rack, like when I am at the table. I HAVE had the server, when ordering a bottle for our table, grab the stemware in FRONT OF US by sticking their fingers in the glasses.....I cringe and I take my napkin in front of them to re-clean the glass, just so they get the hint. Usually they do. Yes, I'm PICKY! But it's just lack of TRAINING for people these days it seems.
When I worked as a Liquor/Wine sales rep for a distributor a few years ago, my territory was Destin, FL. Home of many 4 and 5 star restaurants. Places that win awards and are featured in Cuisine, Bon Appetite, etc. Well......once I saw some of their kitchens......where I would usually be found getting my liq/wine order from the Chef.....well, let's just say, there are places I wouldn't eat at anymore! The servers were never guilty of the above, but lots went on in the kitchens that made my skin crawl.
Maybe that's why the only place I love to go in Destin is one particular Sushi Bar. You can watch your food being carefully prepared!
oh....another gross thing.......get ready...........and I see this daily and have to react quickly. When walking a dog......why is it they find the taste of some other dogs' poop so inviting? Many times when I have yelled "DROP IT!" to no avail....I have to reach in and remove it mid-bite. THAT'S GROSS!

Oh yeah. i've seen dogs do that & i agree GROSS! Not sure i could remove it mid bite though. *hurl*
Dogs roll in stuff, too, like dead critters like mice or toads in the grass. I remember after we went fishing my dad would bury the fish remains from the cleaned fish in the dirt and the dog would dig it up and roll in it.
