I've had alot of pets, including exotics, over the years and used to keep alot of reptiles and amphibians.
When I was 16 I bought an Argentine Black and White Tegu from a friend for $6 (they run close to $300 now). His mother wouldn't let him keep it.
My mom rarely went into my room after the few times snakes got loose and were lounging around or hanging somewhere.
She didn't know I had "Sheckley", my tegu until she came into the room one day to put my clean laundry on the bed and a tail came swishing out from under the bed.
I got a call at school and had to come right home so my mother could come down off the top bunk.
I'm thinking mine was slightly bigger than the one in this video but just as tame.. loved going for walks, being petted and scratched.
