Wow, didn't know you were even looking for a job outside of the one you did for your business at home. Will you still be able to do the one at home too?
I wish you luck. I worked at a factory for quite a while when I was younger and not sure if I could make it back at one again.
It was the only place I applied at when they had a job fair back in November. I honestly didn't think I would get hired because of my age but I guess they liked me for some reason. I had some very good references from some well known community members on my resume and they didn't even ask for any on the application form. My oldest son also applied the same day and he received a nice letter turning him down. I don't think he was too happy that I was hired and he wasn't.
I will still be able to do all the office stuff I currently do in the office now since it really isn't that much anyhow. This could be just a temporary job as Rockwell Automation has some big contracts to build control panels for the government and once those are done, who knows. However, if I'm working 8 hours, I may not have as much time to be on the computer then.

Well we can't have you not here that would just be awful! So I was thinking...they say sleep is very over rated and I really think I've done enough studies on it myself by staying up very late etc. so my advice is just to quit sleeping all together and you would have plenty of time to do it all! lol
Oh wait...you are like me and we already pretty much do that. lol

So true Patti! Like you, I have often fallen asleep at the computer...but I probably haven't hit my head on the keyboard as much as you...not that I recall anyway! LOL
Good: I managed to put all my paychecks so far (since starting this job) in the savings.
Bad: This week I had to start putting them in the checking instead. Dang bills always getting in the way. It was nice while it lasted.
Good news: is I have tried and waited for that day when I could put all of my paycheck into savings.
Bad news : it hasn't worked out that way in the past 39 years

....Now, a very great man once said
That some people rob you with a fountain pen
It didn’t take too long to find out
Just what he was talkin’ about
A lot of people don’t have much food on their table
But they got a lot of forks ’n’ knives
And they gotta cut somethin’....

We've just gotten used to living on my husband's paycheck by cutting back on things. We are far from being well off. I drive a car that is 12 years old and my husband always drives older cars. There's a lot of things in our house that need replacing, but don't have the money. We've built our house almost 16 years ago and it's still not finished because never have the money to do it. Some day I might get to finally have 2 bathrooms in the house like it was supposed to have. Still kicking ourselves for thinking a DIY project was a great idea.
Add to that 5 job lay offs in a 9 year period, lots of unemployment, temp jobs, part time jobs, and paying for a degree out of my own pocket. No financial assistance other than a scholarship I won, which didn't go very far.
Then add in a credit card that we owe money on because when you don't have much, you need that for emergencies like car problems or to help pay for classes.
Then add in a husband that has been off of work a few times and surviving on worker's comp. That's what we live on right now.
Nope, we are far from being financially well off.
The reason I've been putting my paychecks (from my part time job) in savings is because I don't trust employers to keep me employed. Plus, my savings was looking pretty sad at the time. I finally made it past the 90 probation period, but I still don't trust my employer to keep me employed. I only worked 2 days this week. How far will that go? What happens if they get less orders for work in? I'm screwed!
So, there you have it. Forced to live on a lot less money and probably will never get to retire at this rate. In the '90s we didn't have this problem at all. Thanks crappy economy and jobs going overseas. Now I can rest at night knowing that the Chinese have all our jobs and the rich people are still rich.
Good: The sun is shinning and it looks like it will be a nice day out!
Very Bad: Got news that a friend who thought she might get a stem cell transplant for her sight has too high of a rejection rate so if her brother isn't a match, then there's nothing they can do for her. She has two little children at home whom she might not be able to see grow. So sad.
That sucks! Does it have to be a relative to match? I've seen people create facebook pages or go on Twitter to look for organ donors and so on. When you can reach a lot of people quickly, someone might end up being a match.

She just got back from some place in Ohio where they tested her to see what her rejection percentage is for a stem cell doner and it was at 85%. It had to be at 50% or less for them to do surgery. So unless her brother is a match, there's nothing that can be done. She was born with something wrong with her eyes and had some surgery when she was younger that if it hadn't been done, they could've done laser surgery now. Unfortunately, that's no longer an option.
That's crazy. I hope that she can find a better answer. I don't understand the whole rejection percent. I see there's a 15% chance of a donor match. Maybe I'm misunderstanding how it works.
How good is the place in Ohio? What about Mayo Clinic? That's about the best out there.
I hope that she gets some good news as bad as the odds seem. I feel bad for her and I don't even know her.
