I don't know if I remember bright colors in the '90s. I thought that was late '80s when all the neon shirts came out and people were wearing fuschia and teal colors. I remember the '90s as being a lot of boring clothes like flannel shirts and the grunge look. I don't remember many nice colors. I remember that time as lots of bad clothes like socks and sandals, guys wearing huge clothes, and bowl haircuts for guys. That's when the facial piercing craze started and tattoos became popular. No thanks! I still don't like facial jewelry, but you don't see it like you used to.
Ya...it was in the late '80's and early '90's. I found a couple of pictures in the album of my kids wearing the neon shirts and bright multi colored pants with elastic at the waist and ankles.
Bruce Springsteen, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
There was U2 and Blondie
And music still on MTV
Her two kids in high school
They tell her that she's uncool
Cuz she's still preoccupied

She knows every line
"Breakfast Club", "Pretty In Pink"
Even "St. Elmo's Fire"
She rocked out to Wham!

And who's the other guy that's singing in Van Halen?

Please make this stop, stop, STOP(tick tick tick) and bring back
Did these guys really think they were cute like this back then? Oh, they make my eyes hurt.
The mullet was the quick answer to getting rid of the feathered hair. I think just about everyone had feathered hair when I was in high school. Then along came the mullet or brushing your hair across the top of your head. I didn't even know the mullet had a name until the '90s. No one called it a mullet back then.
I was thinking Flock of Seagulls or Duran Duran.
I don't think it looks that bad for the time period. It would look "so eighties" now.
LOL to think I had a young girl crush on the Bay City Rollers. I remember them on American Bandstand with their plaid bell bottoms. I thought the pants were stupid, but I wasn't looking at that.
Then there was the one really ugly guy in the band that no girls liked. I find out years later he got caught with child porn or something like that. Then one of the other guys came out of the closet after being married 25 years. His wife didn't even know. Seems odd that she didn't know, but that's what she said.
The other day I was sitting in the parking lot waiting for my daughter to get out of her driving class. A car pulled up and 2 guys got out and crossed over to go to the take out food place. I had to sit and try to control my giggling as I watched them struggling to walk since they had their jeans pulled down completely under their butt and cinched tight with a belt. Well, if the waist and cinched under the butt, the legs of course will get long and baggy and drag on the ground of which of course these pants were doing.
Just imagine watching two young guys trying to look all that with their plaid boxers completely showing and stumbling on pants falling down. lol lol Too funny. I wished I could take a movie of it and let them have to show their kids someday. Hey, look how stupid your dad was back in the day. lol
We have a retro tv channel here on cable that plays all the old tv programs.. I think it's hilarious to look at all the old clothing styles that were so "in" at the time!
I see that the "skinny" jeans are making a comeback again.
Yes, they have been around here for quite sometime now. Straight legs too. Girls wear alot of leggings also.
I think because you see more of the straight legs that it made me really notice the huge baggy falling down ones on these two guys. After thinking about it, I was thinking they were teens but actually the guys were older, maybe late very late teens so maybe they are just 'stuck' in the baggy style and didn't change. You know how many are still stuck in the 80s big hair, or guys with mullets. lol Just think, the fall down baggy jeans will be part of the style people may get stuck in. That makes me shutter. lol lol
You know how many are still stuck in the 80s big hair, or guys with mullets.
Or those still wearing their feathered '70s hair. I see enough of that. Why would a person want the same hairstyle for their whole life? I get sick of mine every few years and have to change it.
