Your Predictions For The New Year 2009

Thought it would be fun to start a thread with your predictions for the New Year..

Will the Brewers win the Series? Will we actually get out of Iraq? Will gas dip below a dollar?

Take a guess and let's see who comes closest to being right!

I predict marijuana will be legalized in 2009 and gay rights/marriage will see some advances on the Federal as well as state level.

Be nice to see us go back on the Gold standard and a resurrection of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

What do you think?

The good:

We'll make big strides in stem cell research.

Some states will continue to decriminalize medical marijuana.

If we're lucky, our prisons will have a small decrease in population.

Tech and the web will continue to empower individuals and businesses.

The bad:

The Middle East will continue to be the Middle East.

Problems will increase with Korea, Iran, Pakistan and / or others.

Some nutcase / supremacist will make an attempt on Obama's life, or that of his family.

We'll hear about more corruption in business and government than ever.


The Ugly:

Terrorism will continue around the world. It may become nuclear.

I wish they would legalize marijuana, but don't see that happening unfortunately.

I hope big changes come for gay rights/marriage... my best friend would be very happy if he could feel like an equal.

At least one person will make an attempt at Obamas life and i pray they do not succeed. I also pray that they pay the highest price possible for their bad choice, as a lesson to others who may try it.

Plenty of sport players and hip hop/rap artists across the country will be in the news for illegal drugs & sex acts... why change from years past.

I guess I never predicted anything. Maybe we need to make new predictions for 2010.
