Wonderful....realizing another thing that happened.... NO SOUND.

I did that stupid emergency up grade that IE 8 and firefox had on the home page of yahoo yesterday morning. Though wonderful this will fix the problems I'm having.

NOPE! Instead after the critical updates were installed my computer crashed. Got that wonderful blue screen ......

While at the vet I got my son to fix my comoputer once again...

Only now trying to view this I see I have no sound. Sound is now gone from my computer.....lucky me

I'm not impressed with FF or IE8 and I can't get IE7 back

Did you check the volume control on your computer? To check it, look for the little speaker icon in your taskbar in the lower righthand corner. Or to open it you can also go to your control panel and look under "sound, speech, and audio devices."

Took the words right out of my mouth..

I also had some problems with the "upgrade".. screwed up my screen capture application. It still works but now there's a big ugly dark box surrounding the icon you click to capture. It obscures part of my browser address bar now so I have to load the app when I want to use it now, rather than keep it active at the top of my screen like I was able to before. No idea if it affected anything else yet.

Losing your sound unexpectedly sounds like a driver conflict.. for example, my Skype phone and webcam both support Skype and if I use the webcam for Skype, it resets my mic and speakers without asking.

RIght away....that's not the problem. It came up with device drivers missing.....and wont reinstall says there are errors

I figured drivers were the culprit.. poor Carol! I know how frustrating it is.. there are times I'd gladly throw my computer away if i didn't depend on it so much.
