From what I read that's not a good thing to do is just push your own stuff and not comment to others. You have to have a good balance. One person I find that is good about this is a guy from Appleton named Tommytrc. I don't know if he ever leaves Twitter, but he posts a number of links and jokes around with others. Then there's this other guy who only posts his motivational stuff or whatever it is he's pushing and ignores everyone. It's all about him. Good thing he doesn't post often.
Wait, didn't you say in the DM when you added me that you looked forward to reading my tweets? Now you're busted!
I agree Blue, it's not a fun sight... I keep hoping it changes to a more social site, which i read that there are some big changes coming in the future to make it more like facebook with tweets. I'll stick around in hopes that is true, since i like the phone features of it. although facebook isn't all that cool, neither is myspace anymore... we just cant win.
I like Facebook's wall since you can read other's comments to comments easier. Better than a retweet/RT.
One thing that Twitter did the other day was to show the location and last tweet when you look through the list of followers. The downside is that I can no longer mouse over the name to show the bio. You get one thing better and they take something good away. I'd like to see both the location and bio of the people I'm searching without clicking on it because it saves time.
Even more so because at the time it was an auto-reply DM when someone followed me... I don't use auto-follow anymore for that reason.
I do read and retweet on occasion but I usually tweet using BigTweet, then maybe go on Tweetdeck once or twice a day to check for DM's etc so most of the time I'm not actually "on Twitter", just tweeting.

I actually held off on twitter. But I am on it now. I don't find much purpose to it, however. Its just glorified status messages. Not much to do so bored me quickly.
It's like broadcasting a text message on a cell phone to all your friends at once.. for business related things, it can be like making 1,000's of "cold calls" to prospects all at once.. checking my stats this morning I see my Tweets potentially reach over 23 million second order followers..

Just signed up at www.sponsoredtweets.com a couple days ago.. with my stats, each of my tweets is worth $3.44 and I've already gotten paid for two tweets.. you can cash out after you've accrued $50.
From the site:
Sponsored Tweets is a new Twitter advertising platform that connects advertisers with tweeters.Advertisers can create sponsored conversations on Twitter. Tweeters can earn money for spreading the word.

I use twitter & agree with you.
For personal use it bores me... I do check it for live updates on my reality shows & soap spoilers, up to the minute breaking news, concerts announced etc... but not very often because the site itself bores me..
I think people would definitely use Twitter more if they used a Twitter app like Tweetdeck. I never (or rarely) use the actual Twitter website.. I use Tweetdeck almost exclusively.

I like Tweetdeck because I don't have to refresh and I can group people the way I want to. I also am able to catch anyone mentioning my name which can be easily missed on Twitter. I've come back the next day to find someone sending a reply to me that I would have missed before.

I'll have to try & remember to use TweetDeck sometime & see if i like it better.
TweetDeck is for people that have a lot they are following. If you don't follow many it probably won't make much difference.
I have my column groups set up the way I want them instead of the default ones.
Well i don't follow many at all, seems all my social site friends (from myspace, moco, facebook etc...) who are on Twitter don't do much on there either. It must be lame to them as well... BUT if i didn't delete all the porn followers who have added me i'd be most popular lol
Yeah, I regularly make an attempt to keep my Twitter account manageable.. Tweetdeck helps keep me organized.. probably wouldn't tweet withoput it.
I forgot to check out tweetdeck over the weekend, though i wasn't online much at all. I usually would only check twitter or facebook from my phone since windows mobile has some cool applications on my mobile desktop. I wonder if tweetdeck works with a mobile application. I'd probably use twitter more than checking it once a month or so if it was more user friendly & might i add FUN

I haven't found a lot of fun on it yet. Maybe if you had a bunch of friends it could be fun, but I doubt it.
When used on a cell phone it's like sending out a massive text to everyone on your friends list, and getting responses the same way, kinda works like using instant messenger with all your followers at once. It makes sense when used on your phone IF you & your friends use it to chat and keep up with where & what eachother is up to. Apparently it was intended as a phone application to begin with, the internet use came later.
Either way i don't have a bunch of friends who like twitter & we can send massive text at a push of a button without twitter.
