In my case, when I tweet a post here at theBubbler, it's helping to promote the site.
Oh i realize that & it makes sense when promoting sites & what not. This is the reason i have radio stations & such that i follow, first hand concert info & news updates etc...
For me it wouldn't make sense, because i don't need to share my online activity with anyone & i'm not promoting anything.
Latina, you should use Twitter to tell everyone when you get up to go to the bathroom LOL. This is what one of my friends jokes about that she finds stupid on Twitter.
For some, it's like texting.. just like some people will text every little thing (my neighbor's hands are glued to their phones), some people tweet everything they do as well.

Funny you should mention that... The radio station dj's & comedians i have aded to mine tweet EVERYTHING... In the morning it's "good morning...", after each meal (or snack) "i just ate this or that" OH and at night it's "i should be in bed" 10 min later "i cant sleep" 10 more min "i'm gonna try to sleep again" another 15 min "couldnt sleep here i am again" LOL what a dork... seriously... maybe if you didn't tweet your every fart you could get some sleep!
I tend to forget to check it unless i hear of something i want to know about, like a radio station give away or concerts etc...

I had only heard of twitter as a text/phone thing until recent when it seems to have blown up & all the reality shows, talk shows & businesses started using it to advertise.
One of my beefs with Twitter is that you can't search profiles by location or interests. I'm trying to add people from Wis. that are in graphic design and have to end up searching through everyone's followers. It's time consuming. Is there a better way to search that I don't know about?
With Twitter Getter are you getting targeted people or is it random. I don't need random people that aren't going to be of any use to me.
Dave, how many Wis. people do you have on your followers? Is it mostly people from all over or has you been able to get mostly Wisconsinites? I know you might not care where your followers are from as much, but in my case I'm using it to network with people close by and the same industry as me.
With Twollow.com you can autofollow people based on keywords, such as "Wisconsin" or "graphic design".. add yourself to GeoFollow.com as well for geographically based followers.

I agree with ya, i don't like that you cant just search for people like on facebook or myspace or whatever.
I see Dave already posted the auto follow option and the geographically based one, but that makes you follow people you don't want to follow in order to follow a few you might want to actually follow, who wants to follow every WI twitter or every designers (in your case) who tweets? not I.. I would think with all the hype of twitter that they would make it more user friendly... I only twitter on my phone with a few select friends who also use theirs on the go. We use it as a social community kinda, not to tweet stuff we do online like many do, unless we want to share a link with the group or what not. Those who i know that use twitter use it to keep in touch with our group of friends all at once... much better if we could search people out by location & use it as more of a social message site... maybe they will go that route some day
If scientists got the correlation models together, I wonder if they would find a blisteringly harmonious relationship between those who loathe reality TV and those who loathe Twitter.
Critics of the microblogging service declare that, like reality TV, tweets are just mindless ego-fodder being released on the masses by the second.
Well, now the two ego-fodder receptacles appear to be coming together for the further enlightenment of the world.

I think theBubbler should apply you ideas with a new twitter and call it "BubblerSquirts" or "bSquirts"
{8^)
...Them's got ears, let them hear
Them's got eyes, let them see
Turn your eyes to the lord of the skies
Take this airline plane
It'll take you home again
dave...I keep meaning to check it out but I have yet to 'twitter'. lol
You're not missing much LOL. I'm only doing it for job hunting and networking purposes. So far I've had 2 places (from Twitter) ask for a link to an online portfolio which I'm working on. I've worked in print all along, so online portfolio didn't seem that important since most that interview you want to see the actual printed pieces or sometimes they ask you to email samples like a pdf.

I run a constant "Wisconsin" search column in TweetDeck - new since this weekend. Very helpful retweeting Wisconsin stuff, mixing that up with theBubbler stuff. My interest "cloud" always has "Wisconsin" and "theBubbler" ranking well.
Will be looking for ways to integrate that info here.
When my old pc crashed & burned i had not saved my info for twitter, allowing the pc to log me in whenever i'd go there... I realized last night that it's not any log in or usual password i normally use, i tried sending myself a password reminder & apparently it doesn't recognize any of my email addys.
I wonder if it wasn't the old Charter email that i dont have anymore since disconnecting my service with them... in which case it could be 1 of any 10 addys & i dont even remember half of those lol oh well, wasn't like i had anything important on there so i started over
I haven't tried Tweetdeck yet, but I was going to. I've heard a few complaints about tweets not showing up or whatever, so I hesitated.
I may need it to keep people sorted since I'm up to 200 people I'm following and there are 2 people that are on there constantly that should just go to IM since the whole convo is between them and never interesting, but they both are in the design industry so I keep them. They will probably end up in the not so important category.
I never tweet from Twitter.com.. I always use Tweetdeck and love it!
