Bruce Wayne – who by night is Batman – gets murdered by a man claiming to be the father he thought was dead.


In a highly controversial new storyline Bruce, who first appeared in 1939, is killed by Simon Hurt – the leader of the shady Black Glove organisation.

Simon claims he is really Dr Thomas Wayne, saying he faked his own passing when Bruce was a child.

I grew up with Batman and DC comics.. I really hate this kind of development!

First comics went from a dime to twelve cents, now this! Waaaaah!

I hope Dick Grayson, the original Robin, takes his place.. the Batman must live on!

I really hate comics that change the storyline so drastically.

Now, I actually haven't read an entire comic in quite awhile but used to own literally tens of thousands over the years, between collecting and selling them. Batman and Superman were favorites of mine all thru my early childhood. I'd collect the DC comics and Famous Monsters magazines and my friend bought Mad magazine and all the Marvel comics and we'd trade back and forth.

I used to own quite alot of original comic book art from the 1940's that I still wish I had!

Friends had a whole multi-car garage filled with comics when I was a kid. If they still had them in good condition, the could probably retire easily.

Superman a favorite. Captain America, too. Sgt. Savage! Don't know why, but got hooked on Archie, too.

I agree with you about the radical storylines. Bah, humbug!
