American Idol Judge Simon Cowell: Worth $22,000 A Minute?

At $36 million a year, American's Idol's Simon Cowell brings in approx. $22k a minute! Here's a guy that obviously doesn't have to look at the price side of the McDonald's menu like I do...

Of course, with advertising selling on the popular show for over $2 million a minute, Simon's slice of the pie isn't all that big by comparison.

Is he worth $22k a minute? (I think he makes the show, so my answer would be "yes"..)

Yes he is worth it, when you consider sitcom actors making a million an episode... Simon is way cool in my opinion.

I always respect his opinions.. I like the fact that he's so direct and says what he feels even if others don't agree.

I agree with you.

I'm the same way... people say i'm brutally honest & i say there is nothing brutal about honesty, I can handle the truth as well as i speak it. I see him to be the same way & what's not to respect about that, seriously.

I've always thought of myself as being direct and honest but people have accused me of being psychotic! Is that fair??

I don't watch American Idol because that idiot Simon is a judge. It's cool to speak your mind but to me he has no sympathy for people. In fact I think he gets off on being cruel to people trying to make their dreams come true.

Is he worth $22,000 a minute... he should be fired.

Well we could just listen to Paula while she is stumbling over her words and most of the time can't get a sentence put together..lol but yeah, I actually still like her.

But I do listen to Simon. If you can get past his directness, most of the time he really is right on the mark with what he says. And let's face it, everyone that tries out knows the show very well and knows that they can get insulted by Simon, so it's not a big surprise to them I'm sure. It's all in the show.

Always starts the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday in January...

Looking at the calendar in front of me, looks like season 8 will air either the 13th or 20th of January.

People can say what they want about Simon, i seriously think he's use to being called names and couldn't care less, in fact i think he takes pleasure in knowing that whether you love him or hate him you cant help but have an opinion of him (good or bad) & that my dear is why he is a multimillionaire lol

So much for the economy in shambles. If the economy were that bad the various industries would not be able to afford this type of price tag for entertainment.

I have always said that... The economy has never been sooo great that it makes sense for these actors, actresses & song artists to make a million or more for every episode on tv or concert they put out there, on top of commission... I remember when friends refused to do another season unless they each were paid a million per episode & that was years ago, That's just crazy!!
