Anyone Play Texas Holdem Poker Online?
I love to play Texas Holdem Poker online over at Pogo.com, along with a few other varieties of poker they offer. I know playing poker for money online is a no-no here in the States, but do any of you play poker online for fun? If so, where do you play and how long have you been playing?
To me, it's not about the money anyway, I enjoy the challenge of a good game and find it relaxing as well.
I also enjoy watching the World Poker Tour on cable when I can and have a few favorite players with Dan Negreanu being first on my short list. Scotty Nguyen is my second favorite player.
Funny though.. as often as I go to casinos, I have yet to join a live game. Guess I'm too shy! (I love the slots!)

Re: Anyone Play Texas Holdem Poker Online?
We stopped in at 2 casinos before, one being in the Dells, and the another one that comes to mind was on the boat in Iowa. Each time we lasted just under 2 hours and ended up being totally bored. Never got into any of the games even though we tried some. Interesting to just walk around and watch the people looking so intense at their spending. Never really saw anyone win much.

Re: Anyone Play Texas Holdem Poker Online?
One of the things I enjoy most about visiting a "real" casino vs an online game site or casino is the atmosphere. I absolutely love watching and interacting with the other players first-hand. Something you can't really duplicate online.. the sounds, exceitement, etc.
I do like chatting with the other players on Pogo though when I play Texas Holdem online.

I'm 'WebForging' at Full Tilt Poker - all no-limit Texas Hold'em
I like to play, though I do much better in person than online. I like the Daily Double at Full Tilt. It's been a goal for awhile to cash in both games (played at the same time) and I did that a couple of weeks ago. Took a few months off this Summer, played only about twice 'live' in that time. Had a couple year streak of playing in a 20 buck tourney nearly weekly. Cheap entertainment with a good crowd of people.
Regards,
Keith

Re: Anyone Play Texas Holdem Poker Online?
I play high stakes poker at pogo (also play a few others there). I also enjoy live casino, though i dont go very often anymore. I use to go quite often to the Dells, being less than 30 min from home, most recent i have enjoyed the Madison Casino & have won quite a bit of money there, been a minute though since i have gone.

Playing better in person makes sense.. I mean because so much of poker is about bluffing, etc. It helps if you can "read" the other players.
I've yet to play a live game at a casino but have thought about entering a tournament to get my feet wet. Buy ins around here aren't usually that much.
