Question Portable MP3 Player?

I know alot of people have MP3's or music on their cell phones. I was just curious how many use a portable mp3 player to listen to their music? Do you have an Apple iPod, a Zune, or maybe another brand?

What made you choose the mp3 player you own?

I bought an INSIGNIA NS-DV4G 4gb MP3 Video Music Player, open box, off eBay for under $50. Believe it or not, even though I have hundreds of songs on it, I usually use it to listen to the FM radio or watch a movie while in a waiting room! I also have photos and audio books on it.

One of the reasons I bought this was for the video capability and the fact the memory can be expanded through an additional mini SD card. They have an updated version of this player now with Bluetooth (though it requires a regular set of headphones if you plan to use the radio as it uses the wires as an antenna). I'm really happy with mine!

What do you have?

Re: Portable MP3 Player? - iPod

I have an 80 Gb video iPod with 2 or 300 songs (mostly free ones from the 2 or 3 a week offered free at iTunes) and about a dozen books on it (from Download Audio Books, iPod And Digital Audio Books | Downloadable Online Audio Books | Audible Audiobooks | Audible.com). Also have a couple of hundred text and video podcasts on it.

Looking forward to an iPhone one day so I can have my iPod / iPhone with me all the time! I like the way it pauses music or books or video for calls, then resumes. Plus I like the mapping.

Regards,
Keith

Re: Portable MP3 Player?

I have a digital music player( forgot the brand) that uses SD memory cards. I can take that anywhere and it runs on 1 AAA battery. I have had issues as of late with sd memory cards going bad so I am disappointed. I would like to get a high volume iPod/Zune or whatever with at least 120 gig of space but they are pricey and take a technician to change the battery. I prefer the abilty to change my own battery and have more power when I need it not worry about a charger.

Re: Portable MP3 Player?

I've seen the older 30GB Zunes on sale occasionally for $99 but personally I'd pass on a Zune or iPod as there are other alternatives that provide more features at a better price if you look around. No sense in paying a premium for a brand name.

If I were to get one of the two, it'd be the iPod Touch tho.

Re: Portable MP3 Player?

I actually don't own any. But my daughter has 3 different ones. One I can't remember what kind, another is one just for fun, it's a really huge over sized one, and then she has a new IPod. She loves her IPod and has it with her a lot. I think most kids have them and always checking what music someone listens to. I guess you are who you are by what you have on your IPod is how the kids think.

Re: Portable MP3 Player?

How true! Music is the bond that binds young people together.. how many of us recall those "special songs" of our youth?

Sadly, my "special song" was "I'm A Little Teapot"

Re: Portable MP3 Player?

I now am the proud owner of an Apple iPod Touch.. actually not that much into music but this little gadget does so much more.. there truly is "an app for that"!
