Question Thinking about a Halloween Costume Yet?

Thinking about what you might wear for Halloween yet? Don't try this:

LONDON (Reuters) - A senior British policeman is in trouble after he dressed as Osama bin Laden at a carnival days before the seventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Chief Superintendent Colin Terry, who has trained police in Afghanistan, was photographed wearing a bin Laden mask, robes and traditional Arab scarf.

He wore the costume at a carnival in the village of Grampound, Cornwall, on Saturday.

Devon and Cornwall police said in a statement it took the incident very seriously and had referred Terry to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

"Whilst we believe his actions were misguided rather than malicious, they were clearly inappropriate," it said.

You'd think he'd have a bit more sense.

In any case, are you planning to dress up? It's a bit early but what brought it to mind is the fact all our area stores are brimming with Halloween merchandise already!

Re: Thinking about a Halloween Costume Yet?

Oh, that seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yes, I need to get going on Halloween costumes. My husband and I are big into Halloween and go out every year to compete for prizes. Almost every year one of us wins something. I love Halloween, it's all about having fun.

Re: Thinking about a Halloween Costume Yet?

I didn't have a single kid stop by for treats last year.. times sure have changed!

I can recall as a kid there'd be literally thousands of us mobbing the streets looking for a sugar fix

Re: Thinking about a Halloween Costume Yet?

Oh, me too. We loved trick or treating and it was still at night back then. We even went at that age when you are nearing the cut-off age for it, but go anyway. We did it just so we could get some free candy.

Re: Thinking about a Halloween Costume Yet?

There is a great thrift store in the town north of us (Racine) that turns a corner of the store into Halloween Headquarters. They have racks and racks of used clothing worthy of making great costumes out of. Reasonable too!

I live so far out, we dont get kids here either. They hold a parade every year in Sullivan, starting out at the grade school and the kids follow the fire trucks thru town. Once the trucks are parked back at the station the kids start to trick or treat.

I always liked anything licorice, never been big on chocolate.. and hated those little boxes of Chiclets or sticks of gum!

Re: Thinking about a Halloween Costume Yet?

Every year I think about getting dressed up for Halloween but truthfully, I'm not too imaginative. I'm just as content to throw a sheet over my head and yell "boo". I do like to decorate a bit but we never have many kids stop by these days.
