Psst! What Time Is It? What Kind Of Watch Do You Wear?
I've rarely worn a watch but wanted something unusual, different, or unique. I had been looking for a good automatic wind skeleton watch, then I found this gem at a local flea market for $4. It's a vintage 1970's Lucerne Jump Hour Direct Read Swiss Digital and it works great!
I've noticed fewer and fewer people seem to wear watches (they use the time from their cell phone) but if you do wear a watch, what kind do you wear?

I was extremely anti cell phone and then my son got me one for mothers day last year and I locked it in my car and ignored it.
Then I broke down one day...no where near a phone and.....there was that cell phone. Now how do I use it.
Then as my business started to grow the cell became more and more handy.
Now it's rare that I leave home without it. I also seem to get client calls while I'm out on runs...or have troubles at their house and need to call them etc.....

Yeah, I currently don't even own a cel... don't use it that often. My landline phone I never answer and leave that for the answering machine and telemarketers. Anyone I want to hear from has my VOIP number.
So... no one owns a watch?
I used to have the coolest ring that was also a watch.. very hard to find a well made men's ring watch.

I have to confess that right now I just use my cell phone. I rarely go anywhere without my cell. Or when driving I depend on the clock in my van.
I do have a love for watches though and think I may like to go back to one when I see one I like. I like watches that are different. Not your boring kind with a stretch band. Some of my favorites I have owned have either looked like a bracelet or one I really liked had a few diamonds on each side of the face. I also love a watch on a nice long chain. In the winter with a sweater it's nice to wear one that way.
I have owned many Timex, and a few Citizen watches and many just unknown brands that worked just as good as any name brand.
My favorite places to look for a watch is in an antique shop, or little consignment stores or under the tree at Christmas. lol

The band may be boring, but I'm more interested in the interface or time display.. bands can always be replaced. This particular watch is valued from $50 to $200, depending on condition.
I'm really looking for a nice skeleton watch tho, preferably an automatic. I saw one on clearance recently and almost bought it but the band was too small and I didn't feel like putting out more for a band at the time.

I've always had a collection of watches. I usually own around 8-10 at a time. A few of my favorites are the guitar watch, the one that has flashing lightening bolts, and the one that had a little VW going around in circles inside it (wah, it broke).

I actually hate wearing a watch, find them too uncomfortable for some reason. I don't even wear jewelry of any kind generally and I'm not overly concerned about the time.
I don't even use an alarm clock. Find them too annoying!
