Thumbs up WISgreen...

With the expanding thoughts of millions, of the color green, I would like to see a forum of the topic...

This spot to be about how the manufactures across the world are doing compared to the States that are supposed to be United...

What the industries of the world are doing to cut down on emission's...

New inventions...

New laws across the globe that are being enacted...

What are the thoughts of Americans are compared to other countries...

Price of fuel around the world and how the commute...

Is there other issues that can be said...

Is this a good idea to talk about this subject in its own Sub-Forum... I believe so...

Maybe even have sub's for the sub's...

Ok... Maybe it is the greatest idea since using worms to fish with, but if NO one joins in I will be possibly hauled off to the fruit bin for talking to meself...

NOW this talking to myself while I am shaving and telling the best looking guy in the world he is, does not count...

Time for us true Americans to talk about this issue of green among other issues in this wonderful site...

If your reading this it is your turn to input... I DARE YOU...

Re: WISgreen...

Going green
living green
producing green
is popular at the moment with the price of gas going up, we again are looking at alternatives fuels and transportation.
I can recall back in 1974 with the oil embargo that all the Polititians talking about reducing dependance on foreign oil. In 34 years nothing has happened.

We also heard the scare that Al Gore presnted with global warming yet his estate consumes 10 times the average house hold in electricy.
He recieved a Nobel Prize for his contribution. Does it make sense?
Yes he may be using Green generated power but it is still overly consumed.
Back in the eighties when solar heating was popular I attended many lectures on the topic and all had the same number one item to tackle ,reducing heating costs and use of fuels.
"It is much better and more cost effective to cretain a BTU than retain it than it is to produce one, even with the use of solar energy.

So with that in my mind thinking green, living green can be a question of sematics.
Yes by converting corn to ethenol is a method, we loose a food source.
we can all do our share but all known green alternative energies cost more.
With higher heath cost ,food cost, more tazes and reduced wages or loss of job how will we do this?

Bike to work
walk to work
use public transportation

How many are out there ready to give up your freedom to go when you want and stay when you want?

Now it's someone elses turn to add or subtract or highjack this thought.

.........."Dr. dr. help me please, I know youll understand
Theres a time device inside of me, Im a self-destructin man
Theres a red, under my bed
And theres a little green man in my head
And he said, youre not goin crazy, youre just a bit sad
cause theres a man in ya, knawin ya, tearin ya into two.

Silly boy ya self-destroyer.
Paranoia, the destroyer".......The Kinks

Thinking GREEN has gone to my head

Re: WISgreen...

The GREEN monster has been reborn as very few have a wish to even look at this monster of nice, NOT evil...

I have been going to the circuit breaker to hit the double pull to turn off the hot water heater as it take a very short time to recover the heat dissipated...

Turning off the light as we go out of the room is old school as we are adding to the issue of putting the puter tv on power save if we walk away for more than 10 minutes... If we are not going to use this "THING" for more than 1 hour we shut it down...

In the past we insulated the walls when we understood they had none by drilling as high as possible and blowing insulation in cavity... Hanging a suspended ceiling, patching hole, or re-rocking was done to make it look right...

Cleaning the air filters of the furnace or car is very important also as most of us forget...

One more item I wish to throw is to change out your surge protectors as they do take the hit of surge and do where out... That way if you get a surge you won't have to create a new product for landfill or to recycle...

Remember that fluorescent bulbs are to be recycled as they hold mercury...
