Just got my "welcome letter" from the child I sponsored thru CCF yesterday.
Kimarah, who is 9, lives in the village of Riviere Cyrique located on the east side of the island of Dominca. She walks a mile and a half to the Morne Jaune Primary School.
Kimarah says she likes to read, sing, help her "mum and dad", and play games.
Her mom works 3 days a week and her dad tends the family garden.
She has one brother and two older sisters and they live with their parents in a two bedroom plywood house donated to them by her sister's sponsor.
Riviere Cyrique is divided into many sections divided by ridges. Kimarah lives in Morne Fregarde.
From the pictures online, it looks like a beautiful area and has a population of 468:
Be nice if there were some way to automatically set up a PayPal subscription for multiple donors.. then we could get a theBubbler group to sponsor a child.. if any were up to the notion. I realize it's not for everybody at $25 a month, but a dollar or two a month donated to a group fund would be alot easier to handle.

When one gets the photo and letter, they can share with the others via this thread...and we'll all get to see how the various kids in our adopted community are getting along.

That is a great idea Dave. What with decreased incomes, higher bills/groceries etc. many are having a more difficult time but I'm sure you would find some that would be able to do a smaller amount than the 25.00.
Keep us posted if something is figured out to do it this way.
