Rising food prices are forcing many children in developing countries to forgo an education in order to work. Help kids get the education they deserve by making a donation.
Something to consider also when you get a WisBucks style forum economy going here, Keith as it would make it easy to contribute to charity ribbons, like we do at NamePros. If posts were worth 2 cents each, it'd be a nice incentive to contribute to charity.

Maybe they could use "TheBubbler" as a code name.
This is in my humble opinion.

I went to the CCF site today to sponsor a child and while they will let you sponsor a child from a variety of countries, I didn't see this option online so called and they are closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Day but I will call again tomorrow.
My total income for the month is just over $400 but out of that $400, I am lucky enough to have a warm apartment in the winter, air conditioning in the summer, the internet, cable tv, and food in my cupboards.
As I stood in the super market today trying to decide between a half gallon of ice cream or a 12 pack of soda, I opted instead to call CCF.
Hopefully others will do the same if they can..

Project number 453 in Dominica in the Caribbean - Le Plaine Child Development Center project. There were 114 youth waiting for sponsorship there.

Bravo, Dave! Rep added. "Our girls" are no doubt friends!
I'll add info about the child I sponsored, too. Thanks for your goodwill. Quite frankly, if you can do it, many of us can . . . and I hope more will join us!
Christian Children’s Fund (CCF) is an international child development organization, which works in more than 31 countries, assisting more than 15.2 million children and family members without regard to race, creed, gender or national origin. CCF provides educational opportunities, nutritional assistance, health benefits, access to safe water and waste disposal, and emergency relief, safeguarding children in both manmade and natural disasters, as well as other essential services. We strengthen families by helping parents become self-sufficient and enabling communities to build for the future. Since its inception in 1938, CCF has provided more than $2.9 billion in services to children--most of the funding coming from individual contributors in the form of monthly child sponsorships. In addition, CCF receives grants and donations. CCF is a member of ChildFund Alliance.
Got an email from a Public Relations person at CCF wondering about what we're up to here...sure would love to report overwhelming enthusiasm and support!
Sent this out to the little girl I'm sponsoring thru CCF. They don't want you to send large gifts so this is one of those coloring pages with some small markers from the Dollar Tree.

I was excited when I saw an envelope from Dominica because I'd been expecting a letter from the child I sponsored.. opened it up and found they'd sent me a letter meant for someone else. Probably means someone else got "my" letter..
Contacted support and have to send the letter back and they're going to try and sort it out.

Thanks.. me too. Gonna mail back the letter Monday or Tuesday when I get back "downtown" next.
They send quite a nice multi-page packet with info about the country as well as printed photos of the child and a handwritten letter of sorts by the child.
