Where do you go for a really great burger?
So where do you go when you get a craving for a really great hamburger? The one place that fills the craving and is the best burger around as far as you are concerned?
I know just recently we stopped at a Red Robins for hamburgers and all I can say I was in hamburger heaven! lol They not only had a great number of very interesting burgers to choose from but the unlimited fries were great also.
I decided to go wild and get the burger with a large grilled pineapple slice with it. Oh..it was totally great.
I have to admit it was a bit expensive when you see the bill for 2 people to eat 2 hamburgers but it's worth it to go there once in awhile.
Here's an article where burger places are checked out. Read and see what the results turned out to be and don't forget to comment where you love to eat your burgers at.
National Burger Chain Taste Test
.... sampled standard cheeseburgers at Houlihan's, Applebee's, T.G.I.Friday's, and Red Robin, asking for medium-rare or as close to it as possible

Ruby Tuesday's has good burgers and for a couple bucks more you can get the salad bar with it.
Boulder Junction in Milwaukee has good burgers too!

Ruby Tuesday and Red Robin are good for chains. At Red Robin we fill up on free fries, and at Ruby Tuesday we fill up on the salad bar.
Robert's Frozen Custard in Germantown is my favorite local burger. Their burgers are huge!

I didn't mean to sound as if I was that threatening! But we did get some replies! lol
By the way we stopped at PAINTED PARROT in Milwaukee yesterday for lunch and my daughter had a hamburger that was really great. I of course had my usual of coconut shrimp. I love the mango sauce!
If you haven't been there before you must stop in. It's a really fun place to eat.
Tip: Don't order the big nachos unless your group is really, really hungry! We made the mistake the first time there to order it before our meal! It was just the 2 of us eating at the time. lol lol It comes on a small garbage can lid (I kid you not!) and they place it on a dog bowl to hold it and it's loaded! But it's oh so good!

Re: Where do you go for a really great burger?
I've been to a place somewhere between milwaukee and Chicago called Jucy Lucy's. That was the best burger in my life. that was over 10 years ago though. Otherwise I just cook myself one at Richfield Truckstop (where i'm employed). the 1/2 pounders are great since we have a char-broiler there.

I certainly remember Juicy Lucy's. It was on I94 around Racine. I believe it closed maybe 5 years ago? Can't remember what's out there now. I'll look sometime and let you know.

I think it's a Wendy's or similar chain. Juicy Lucy's really had awesome burgers.

Re: Where do you go for a really great burger?
I have a lot of favorite burger places. I live in Lake Geneva and I have been known to drive to Milwaukee to get a burger at Sobelman's Pub and Grill. I think their burgers are the best. If you stop at Sobelman's then you must have one of the bloody Marys. Check out the photo gallery to see for yourself.

Juicy Lucy's
I-94 and Highway 20, Citgo Auto Plaza,
Hamburgers 24 hours everyday!
This is the address where the Juicy Lucy use to be. It was with the Citgo Gas Station. I am told that a Cousin's Sub Shop is there now.

The Wisco on willy street. AKA "Willy Street Pub" in Madison. Another great place is the "Park & Inn" in Mazo. (terrific Bloody Marys too)

We use to go to a Checkers in Waukegan, Illinois. Waukegan is located across the Illinois stateline which isn't to far from us. That Checkers closed down a few years ago though. But Ralleys is still there which I understand is owned by Checkers? If not, the food tastes a lot like a Checkers.

I'll have to make a note of this place and check it out sometime when we are in Milwaukee. Thanks for posting this.

Re: Where do you go for a really great burger?
I like Bigg's bar in Watertown for burgers. Also try Dick's Pizza (they have other things besides pizza) in West Bend. Waterstreet Brewery in Delafield and don't forget to try their homemade chips.

Re: Where do you go for a really great burger?
Sorry, but nothing beats a nice hand pressed home cooked burger.. that said, of all the places I've been tho, there was a place I ate at in Rochester, NY called Vic & Irv's that couldn't be beat for their ground round.

Re: Where do you go for a really great burger?
I'm with KooKoo.. home-made, just like mom used to make but if I'm out, anyplace with a good charbroiled burger and fully dressed is okie-doke.
