Income Taxes

Income Tax filling, you gotta love it!!!!!

This is the first time in a very long time that I have prepared my income tax report this early in the year. I usuasally wait for the last second and it has no bearing on owing or getting a refund. I have rercived refunds and I have had to pay in. While we all hate paying in , I would much rather use my money during the year than to allow the government to use my for free!!!.
The past two years I have tried using tax software,Not the type that you buy because I do not buy software but the free trial stuff.
For one thing once you are done it cost anywhere between $15.00 to $20.00 bucks for online submission, I perfer the cost of a $0.42 stamp for my tax report submissions. I also dis-like a GUI that does not show me what line the entry is being placed on untill the form is printed and then you can NOT edit so easily. So this year I tried the free TaxCut from H & R **ock. It took me just as long as it did for me to do it on paper and my paper report was more accuarte and made more sense to me, well the Federal form did anyways, Wisconsin needs to make theirs easier and so much going from one page to next and back again. They also need to INCLUDE an envelope like the FEDs do!!!!!

so here is my poll

Do you file your taxes electronically or go with the snail mail method?

Re: Income Taxes

I file electronically cussing the whole time.

I can't believe that we get taxed on last years refund. This is money that is simply refunded from an overpayment from the prior year. It's not income! Then, you can be penalized if you don't withold enough to get a refund where you then get the double tax.

They got us coming and going.

Mark

Re: Income Taxes

Seeing the government is not ready yet to accept 5 credit changes they changed til Feb 11th, we are screwed to file early. We qualify for an educational credit (one of the five credit changes) and it is a considerable amount.....we had to place ours on hold til they will accept them on the 11th. I heard a lot of people are very angry that the IRS is not ready for that yet when they had all year to prepare. So here we sit and wait. We need this done to get my kids' FAFSA filed. GRRRR!

What a system we have and if you are required to pay additional taxes that amount can not be deducted from your income even though it is revenue for the goverment. So you pay taxes on taxes.
What are you gonna do?
