Angry Post!!

I am a member of several fish hobby sites. It is not a secret to those who know me on here that I am fish finnatic!!! But a thread someone started about her husband bringing home 7 angelfish that look to be deformed in one way or another. It is a poll post where they are asking everyone else if they should kill them because they don't look the prettiest. I had to share the link and my frustrations about stuff like this. I am over there like I am here "Kelly68" to read what I wrote. But I just think it is wrong because something is not perfect to kill it. Wish I lived in Ohio because I would going to rescue me some fish. Thanks for letting me vent.

OH yeah, for those who want to read it:

Re: Angry Post!!

I am disgusted at the suggestion of killing them! If the fish aren't sick, why shouldn't they live? It reminds me of some pet rat forums I used to read. People suggested euthanizing old animals by putting them in the freezer!

If an animal is truly sick and suffering, I understand euthanasia. If it's deformed, so what? My preferred pets are the old, deformed and mentally challenged. I love them even more because they have quirks.

Re: Angry Post!!

Kelly,

I understand your frustration. Just remember though there are a lot of people in this world that become over dramatic just to get attention. Negative attention for some is better than no attention at all.

In reading that post, I think that poster may be one of them. Her comment on one of the post, reinforces this idea...... Interesting thread to read FOR SURE !..........
These type of people make things up just looking to get a rise out of people and get attention.

She probably has no intention of getting rid of the fish...or she never owned them to begin with and made the whole story up.

Re: Angry Post!!

Exactly. I am just angry with the whole idea that someone had to waste their time, write a poll question to ask others should I kill something because it has deformaties.

Links... I saw that too...."Interesting" (with popcorn in hand). Still, those fish should be in a place where they are loved. If a family member comes in and makes fun of one of my favorite, yet deformed fish...they get an ear full! Then someone who is a huge fish lover comes in and says you know which fish is my favorite?? They pick the deformed one. Why is that? Because it is different and unique. I love people like that.

Re: Angry Post!!

Sounds like she has deformities...maybe you should put up a poll and ask if she should be killed because she may not be perfect.

One of my common comments to my children is they are defective. They laugh and agree, because they know their defects is what makes them special.

When I was growing up my parents friends owned a kennel. She bred AKC registered dogs. One litter of chihuahas had a runt with an extra vertebrae in his tail. This caused the tail to come out and go straight up. He wasn't sellable in that condition. So for 8 weeks I begged my dad to let me have that puppy. He finally gave in. I was proud to have him!
