Illinois or Wisconsin folks?

I took this quote off a welcome topic and thought about it for awhile. lol

RACINE IS ALMOST ILLINOIS.

Well I live in Kenosha which is really ALMOST ILLINOIS. And I was born and raised in Zion, Illinois until we moved here Memorial Day Weekend, 13 years ago.

When looking for a house up here I could not get over the comments about 'illionis' people. I found out for the first time we were called 'FIBS' and no I will not explain what that means for those that don't know.

I found out that Wisconsin hates Illinois drivers since they relate all of us with CHICAGO drivers. (I never personally driven in Chicago).

I found out the hatred for THE BEARS Football team. lol

And in general, I found out that just a few miles difference from here to Zion, ya all dressed and wore your hair different then us Illinois people. lol

Why did we stay? Because I truly loved being here. Now that we have been here for so long I still hear comments about kenosha not quite being WISCONSIN.

How Kenosha/Milwaukee area is actually thought of as a suburb of CHICAGO.

So what does this mean. Are we wisconsites here, or wanna be Illinois folks?

How about everyone else that lives this close to the state line? Any problems?

Just wondering, not trying to start an issue. lol

I'm through and through, a Wisconsinite. Although I don't use cheese as a fashion statement. My favorite saying is, "GO BUCKY"...unless I happen to be at a Badgers football game, then it's, "F***'EM BUCKY".

There's nearly 200 miles between me and the flatland to the south. I'm able to tell the difference. Doze folks from down daer talk funny. I tink daers sumptin' in da water.

Remember, when driving in the Chicago area, add 20 mph to the posted speed limit.

I think we could combine WI and IL drivers and have a good medium. A little WI will slow the IL folks down, but the IL traits will keep them from driving 45 in the left lane.
