I recently had a creative moment, a photoshop opportunity ,rare and I may be the only one that thinks it, but I created a desktop that I think is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool.
so I want all to see it but then I would like to see what your desk top looks like. Share it here, let's see how creative or dull you are.

I had a tech buddy once tell me that every desktop icon takes 2 megs of memory. I have not been able to insert an image into a post, but I can tell you, my desktop is a photo of my favorite movie star, "Godzilla".

Except for: FireFox shortcut and a link to theBubbler! (didn't see them)
I just use the Da Vinci desktop on the home machine I'm on right now. On my work laptop I use the large "WebForging" branding. It is an actual photo of a custom-made branding iron heated to 3,000 degrees F. That's the name of my book!
...and I have it proudly displayed on my desktop. No icon to obstruct. I hate icons on my desktop...I don't know why...other than they block my view of Godzilla.
Thanks Mark

Firefox,What is that? i.e. rules especially when it is the Corporate Standard.
I keep all links in my favorites folder. TheBubbler is there.
I mainly keep my utility scripts etc as desktoop short cuts.
I am required to comply with Corporate Standards but the desktop is my place for freedom of expression in this Corporate world of control.

My desktop changes all the time. Depends on my mood, or the season we are in. Usually it is a picture I've taken either of fall colors, winter scenes, beautiful flowers, our dogs, kids, vacation pic, whatever I decide to change it to.
I never like to keep any one picture on there very long. I do have little icons all over about 1/4 of the space also. They seem to add up when there's several people using the same computer.
I just had to look to see what was up right now and it's a picture of Lincoln Park in Kenosha just after a snow we had not long ago. It's a closeup of all the tree branches full of snow.
Now that I looked at it, I think it's time to change again! lol
Mine changes all the time. I don't like "busy" desktops though, I go for the plainer ones. I always wanted to use the MS photo screensaver with photos, but I imagine the memory it takes would be astronomical!
LOL@Brain about the Godzilla remarks I have a high school memory of a bunch of guys doing Godzilla by BOC for an air band contest 8O ...many moons ago!
(taken in Lincoln Park, Kenosha after last snowfall.)

Now that is one awesome shot pk. Like your shot of the train tracks, you get that sense of depth beyond the photo.
That would be one worthy of theBubbler hall of fame Gallery
whether it would a physical or virtual Gallery.
if that is ever created.

There seems to always be a greater depth of field with B&W photography, rather than color. I use my old Canon AE-1 for B&W. The camera isn't digital. I find much more creative applications with the analog SLR. I use my G3 Canon for color photography. I's old, by todays standards. Still, it's 5 mp, has a zoom, shoots videos, and has the flash built in. Really easy to use, too. I just have'nt learned to switch it over to B&W yet.
pk, do you take your B&W's with a digital, or analog?
Brain..I use my Canon EOS Digital Rebel Camera. Love this camera. Take it everywhere with me. We also have a stereo lens that fits on it so we can take stereo view pictures. That is really fun.

Wow. thank you so much for your kind words. I had to read that out loud to everyone here! lol
You totally made me smile today.
A comment like that coming from someone that takes awesome pictures is a real treat for the day.
Now my kids always tell me they like my pictures but they have to say that, right? lol But coming from someone that knows alot more than I do..I mean alot more, really makes me sit back and read this again (and again!) !
you hear the snow crunch under your feet
you can hear the people scurry in retreat
the air is cold the wind is strong
no leaves on the trees, summer is long gone
snow is falling, blowing like a gale
winter days hold many a tale
the teapot is whistling, for a warm drink
I am at this computer trying to think
where should I go, what should I do
to many thoughts ,out my head they just flew
