What's the best deal you got on Black Friday?
Mine was a book: The Complete Peanuts- 1961 to 1962. It has a cover price of $28.95, and I paid only $13.75 (which includes tax) for it at a used book store. The store carries some new things, and usually marks things at least half price. Since it was Black Friday, there was 10 percent off as well. I luckied out, since it was the only copy they had... and they said it just came in recently. The book is in perfect condition, no tears or anything. Goes to show you, used stores are a great source for deals that you usually can't find at regular stores.
I didn't do much other Black Friday shopping. I went to Best Buy, Barnes and Noble and Shopko, plus some stores that carry mainly used things. The only long waiting I had to do was at Shopko.

My oldest daughter did the early morning shopping getting at our local Kohls at 6:00. She bought some items at very reduced prices but had to fight a crowd that was crazy and stand in a check out for almost an hour.
I went to Big Lots around 10:00 and went right in and out with no one in front of me. .. but then that's Big Lots looking over at our Walmart parking lot it was packed.
We did however venture into Walmart in the afternoon still catching some great bargains and only had a couple of people in front of me in line so that was great! Running into K-mart I noticed a toy my son received 2 years ago (it's still popular) that had a SALE ticket of 100.00 then, NOW, special 2 day sale... 39.99! What a difference 2 years can make!
But our outlet center made the news showing people standing in line all night! That is something I will not do... lol The lines in the morning showed people stacked up all the way down the parking lots outside.

sorry... I noticed the question was "what was the best deal you got..."
Can't actually list what our best deals were since they are Christmas presents and Christmas isn't here yet! lol
But I will add that some of the prices were more than 50 pecent off and even more.
I heard on the news that the sales after Thanksgiving Day, will actually continue to be offered through out the sales season. Walmart let it be known that they are lowering their prices all season, there for all other retailers are lowering theirs and offering sales to try to keep up.
Suppose to look like a great season for all of us that love to bargain hunt and buy only 'sale' items! Yeah!!

My husband got us some silicone bakeware cheap at Menards. My score was a set of embroidered pin-up girl towels from the antique store I work at. They were priced very well and the towels are in perfect shape... a rare find.

Ugh. The day after Thanksgiving
*bad retail job flashbacks*
The only day that's worse is the day after Christmas when everyone wants to return things and complains that they have to fill out a form because they didn't get the receipt and can only get store credit or reverse the transaction and credit the card that was used to purchase it instead of getting cash in their hand because the purchase was originally made on a credit card, oh and that they should get priority over the sixteen people in line ahead of them just because they say so and that the clerk is being racist/sexist/rude/a bad worker because they take the customers in the order they came to the counter. I mean really, most stores start with about $75 in the till when they open only so they can make change, and most people pay with plastic. If stores gave cash back on every purchase, they'd run out of cash after the first or second return. (Maybe I should move that over to the "things that irk me" thread instead...)
Me, I stay away from all major centers of commerce on the day after Thanksgiving, as a general rule. Some of the family wanted to go out to the mall this year, so we went with them just to get out and be with them, but the only thing I bought that day was a cup of coffee. I saw lines, though, that stretched literally all the way around the stores. *shudder* My time is worth far more to me than the few bucks I'd save by waiting six hours just to get to the register.
I figure, if it's not something you were planning/needing to buy anyway, then it doesn't matter how good a deal you got, it was wasted money.

Re: What's the best deal you got on Black Friday?
I'm opening this thread for members to share their 2007 Black Friday finds. How did your bargain hunting go?
I tried to get some buy one, get one free pants online but couldn't get two of anything in my size. So much for that!

Re: What's the best deal you got on Black Friday?
twas Black Friday
and bargins abound
but only for those
who slept on the ground
cheap laptops
flat lcd TVs
fight for the right
I need three
books for half price
five mile lines
all made to die for
I want what's mine
it's not the price I paid
nor time laid to waste
to hell with my neighbor
I must purchase with haste
I planned this for a year
a trip to the mall
to be in front of the line
and avoid the brawl
I got my trinkets
and new fangles do-dads
my neighbor got nothing
he has been had
but it's the season for getting
cause giving just sucks
buy for yourself
your friends are out of luck

My girlfriend got a $899 laptop for $599 from office depot. We were like 10th in line and only had to wait an hour.

My feelings exactly. Best deal I got was a set of spark plugs, points, condenser, rotor cap and fuel filter for my Farmall M. $20.00 at Fleet Farm. Purrs like a kitten now. Hope I sound that good when I'm sixty.
