Re: What are you reading?

Another great book is "Brett Favre, A Packer Fan's Tribute" by Tom Kertscher.
Tom Kertscher is a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter. Tom has done a great job on this tribute to the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
It is a must read for the true die hard Packer fan.

Thumbs up Re: What are you reading?

I am currently reading a novel entitled,

THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN by Garth Stein

It is written from the viewpoint of the dog (pet) of a part-time race car driver. So far, a quarter of the way into the book, it is cleaver, funny, thoughtful, philosophical, mysterious, and very entertaining.

Re: What are you reading?

Recently, I began reading a non-fiction book, entitled "The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order" by Samuel P. Huntington.

It gives the reader a look at how various cultural and religious differences and
political borders are being replaced with a one world pre-eminence, with individualism going by the wayside.

Just started, so far, I find it quite interesting, and thought provoking.

Re: What are you reading?

Going to the book store Wednesday evening with the girls, to look for a book my daughter has been wanting. I have always liked books on disk & somehow every time I go to buy a book, I end up with one on disk (yes, laziness!)... I plan to read this time, but no promises lol

Re: What are you reading?

Months ago I started reading the book The Shack. Really interesting but with everything going on around here I mislaid it and could not find it. (don't you just hate when that happens!)

Anyways, just found it today while packing. Will put it on my list to read when this move is over with.

Re: What are you reading?

I am reading Bill Bryson's At Home. Full of interesting tidbits. Examples...

Do you know why rent with meals included is called room and board? Because before there were tables, people sat on benches with a board across their laps and ate from there. Then the board was hung up on the wall till the next meal.

The person who runs a meeting is the chair person because only important people got their own chair; everyone else was sitting on the benches. Same reason we have a chairman of the board.

Re: What are you reading?

Just found out that I am in love with LARGE PRINT books! Picked up Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown at the Goodwill because it had large print, thought I would like to try it. Turned out that I loved the larger print and I really liked the book.

No, never bought a Kindle. When everyone was first talking about them I thought about getting one but never did. Now it's just a cost I don't need.

Re: What are you reading?

Oh, for some reason I thought you had one.. the main reason I'd get one is for the simple convenience of storing 1000's of book in one device.. but not much use at home because I have my computer for that. Great if you're on the road or travel.

I like the Kindle Fire because it does more than just "read books".. more my speed.

Not to get off-subject but:

Nope. We all just discussed it a while back and I really was interested in them at the time. Went as far as to ask for one for Christmas but didn't get it. But that's OK, maybe in the future but right now I'm content with reading books the old fashion way.
